I love everything about W890i

exept two things
no focus on camera .. and the M2 card is hidden under the lid
well the M2 problem is ok .. but no focus .. come on

(currently have W610i, it got Focus.. and takes decent pics thanx to that)

question is .. will SE release a better version of W890i ?
or is that a dead hope ?

W902 is so bulky .. and has nothing over my W610.. no need in those 5Mpix

thanx in advance

I've never heard anyone refer to a phone just 11.7mm thin as bulky before but okay. Here's what W902 has over W610:

1) Size, it's slimmer by 2.3mm
2) Walkman 3.0
3) Much, much better out of the box headset with HPM-77
4) Clear Bass/Clear Stereo technology which is award winning and miles better than Megabass
5) CYBERSHOT camera- if 5mp is a big problem for you set it to 3mp like I do, still an upgrade over W610's 2mp and trust me, the quality is way better too.
6) 3G, HSDPA
7) 8GB m2 card included up to 16GB (as of now) supported
Motion gaming
9) Auto-rotate
10) 30fps QVGA video recording
11) Geo-tagging
12) Torch, native Youtube and a big bunch of other apps to name a few
13) Better resolution screen
14) Bigger display at 2.2"
15) Higher capacity battery with longer standby
16) Dedicated Walkman keys
17) Thick/richer loudspeaker quality
18) Shake Control (if you find this sorta thing desirable)
19) Video streaming
20) My fingers are getting tired of typing the endless advantages so I better stop here

Of course unless you find them significant, I guess all hope is gone then

If he calls W902 bulky, what will W900 be? A giant? LOL.

Even compared to W890, it isn't SO bulky if W610 is an ok size for him. Bulkier...definitely. If anything, the W902 is slim and W890 is ultra-slim. And it's no longer than C902 or most of the other phones out there-but we all know that's not what neogeo was talking about.

Its a dead hope. Why not go for the W705. I find it the slider of that line. same colors same slimness and all but its 5 times better.

W902 is 2 mm slimmer then W610 .. but still 2 mm thicker then W890

someone wrote a whole list of benefits ..
most of them seem to be gimmicks.

19) Video streaming
16) Dedicated Walkman keys
Motion gaming

this is really stuff I dont need

none of this weighs up against the size of W890, and it's metallic shell

that's why I'm saddened buy this strange plot twist SE is feeding us

and yes W705 does not have focus either .. just like W890,
so no win there

SE please release a new version of W890i with focus camera :/

EDIT : on top of that
look at the weight comparison

Weight: W902 (100g) <- ?? wat srsly (what's next .. option to add weight)

W610 (93g)

W890 (78g)

1) Video streaming is not a gimmick, I use it everyday to check realtime traffic situations at certain routes so that I won't get caught up in traffic jams and I also use it a lot to upload and watch videos on Youtube

2) Dedicated Walkman keys is not a gimmick, you can switch tracks while the phone is in your pocket without looking at it, skip tracks while surfing without having to switch to media, forward and rewind with ease while on Google Maps, because I consider this one of the best features in the phone.

3) Motion gaming...I can play and navigate my racing car in Need For Speed without touching a button...a tad bit gimmicky but it's the next step in mobile gaming just like Wii. If there's anything gimmicky I'd say shake control would be it because you don't need it with dedicated keys.

Most of these features are unuseful to you because you probably don't know how to apply them in your daily life so you don't know what you're missing.

Btw, W908 weighs 98g just 5g more which is a good weight its size and all the features thrown in as compared to W610. If it weighed less than that it would feel cheap.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to sell the phone. I guess my point is it's such an exaggeration to say W902 has nothing over W610. If it's design that you're unhappy with then just say so but saying no Walkman range is above W610 is a bit over the top IMO

the choice is between W902 and W890i

dedicated keys ? .. my W610 can do all that with a single volume button

volume up volume down ..
hold 1 sec it skips track

on the other side there is a play/stop button

dont see the W902 's buttons as some revolution

You'll never get your W890 with af, because 1) it's too slim for that. An autofocus module doesn't fit well in 10 mm and 2) It's a walkman phone, those usually don't have af. W902 is the best option for you.

it's just lately that they started to remove AF in Walkman phones ..
my shitty W610 has it ..

W705 is missing it .. fail

So what happens when you're surfing the web and you want to skip track, does the volume key change the volume or does it skip track? Just curious.

Ye, the Volume key helps to skip tracks etc. . .when held in, use it all the time when web browsing on my K850, im sure even the W902 may have it even if it has Music keys
neogeo im sure we will have a W890 successor but i highly doubt it will have AF, the W902 is by far your best bet,or you could just get a C902 and throw W980 acoustics in it, and you will have great sound quality and a decent camera
