Dont want to sound bitchy but has Esato gone downhill? |

I kind of think it has, its quite a sad thought.
Before there used to be real intresting debates, funny laid back stuff now things seem kind of quiet and so many great members that were once here are now gone. Just look, we have some real dull topics on the non-mobile forum and some unpleasant stuff regarding scammers. It just makes the hole expiriance seem ugly.
I used to come on here alot and post daily and look forward to reading the great posts by some real great members now all of that has diminished (Im not saying the guys on this forum are not great because you are! Its just not the same site as it was before). Im not slagging any one of, im just saying this is not the same Esato I got to know back a few years ago. I dont want to sound like a martyr or anything lol, because I know I was not as loved or respected as some other past members but I dont care about that. What im saying is , its time to say goodbye so later all been a cool time regardless, so thanks, especialy to Tranced he was a good freind and was a lot of help on the forums so thanks . Good luck buddy and good luck to you all. |

I must say morale is quite low at the moment. SE having a somewhat negative press lately is bringing out some unholy opinions from the haters.
@KB5 Take the rough with the smooth, stick around and things will get better.

ESATO TILL I DIE!
Definitely.
I must say though, there is a lot of spamming going on in threads from the "free gprs" people and it's getting quite annoying to have a good thread spoiled by "hello IM me please i want to be your friend". Isn't there a way to stop this? Also a lot of spam PMs of the same nature.

ESATO TILL I DIE!
SE as a brand is quite strong recently, despite doom and gloom regarding sales figures, here's the problem with Esato as i see it.
Brand fanatics (SE mainly/ some Apple) are given far too much leeway on here, so holding rational, healthy arguments on here is next to impossible.
Exactly the same goes for other topics, threads allowed to develop in to severe unpleasantness before offending members are tackled about it.

As a slightly new member myself I have to admit that I don't really come here for the non-mobile discussions/talk. In its core I see Esato as a mobile phone forum, for my non-mobile related things I frequent other forums tbh. My guess is that that goes for others as well. So whilst there might not much interesting going on in the non-mobile topics for OP doesn't mean the quality of posts and content is going down hill on Esato, the core is still very much alive and full of lively debate, lots of in depth information and discussions and something a funny flame wat between nokia and se fans, or photo freaks
KingBooker5, I hope the threads you crave for are going to return here, and if not may you find a place where they do cater for your non-mobile needs and stay here for your mobile needs

Well as long Esato identifies itself primarily with Sony Ericsson phones then there will always be that bias (and I use the term loosely ) amongst its members - one does feed the other.
So the odd flame war is only to be expected and hopefully extinguished before it gets out of hand.

Let me tell something about the "Esato going downhill" recursive issue...
Esato is not going downhill, it's only your perception that it is so.
I've seen hundreds of threads like this, one for each member that after a while has lost interest on what's going on here.
It is only natural that after a few months/years around you get tired of this, because all in all it's always about some new phone coming, new phone praising, new phone bashing, customize your phone like this, using your phone like that.
Eventually you will go around same old same old.
Look at me, i'm here for more than 6 years and still post here and there...
I've seen lots coming and going. And usually the ones that "live" here get tired quicker.

@KingBrooker5
I've seen this type of thread before, indeed I have created at least one myself. Things change, people move on. That is the nature of forums.
You have been a member here for just under two years, in that time you will have seen Esato in a certain way and liked it. Presumably that has now changed. However, you will, if you want to, get used to it and change with Esato to help mould it into its next incarnation.
Look at it another way, the Esato you know and love is alien to me. The Esato I knew and loved was long gone before you even joined. My friends on here had long since departed when you signed up. I used to be a fairly prominent member here, but I had long since left Esato by the time you joined. That was all before you became used to Esato and grew to love it.
When I joined the previous era of Esato was drawing to a close and those who had come before me where slowly fading. I remember those who had come before me posting these threads, most notably fijbert. When my time came I enjoyed Esato, had fun with my friends, and loved every minute of it. Then our time came to pass and slowly we faded away (although I went out with something of a bang).
You have been a member for a but a short time. You still have years of fun ahead of you should you have the will to see it come to pass.
