Hi People
I might be getting the C902 now. Looks like my insurance company might be replacing my k850i. I dropped it the other day accidently and it looks like its on its dying legs.
So all those C902 owners (especially those who have also had the k850).
I want to hear the good and bad points about the C902.
Thanks

I've owned both phones, the C902 :
+ A bit faster
+ Design
- Camera isn't better then the K850 (my opinion)
- Annoying buttons
- Smaller screen
The rest is pretty much the same. I can't think of more bad or good points since I had the C902 for a short period.

C902 Pros:Much more better construction (Not a fingerprint magnet as the K850 and not a dust vacuum
- Design is as nice in my opinion i consider the K850 one of the best good looking phones ever
- The camera is much better for point and shooting than the K850s, the colours are much more vivid also and not as much purple fringing
- The video recording is better in my opinion eve if it haves the same resolution plus the C902 haves stereo mics so the recorded sound is much better
+very slim and light....and you can use the flash as a torch(+bestpic photos with the flash)
the flash is 2 times stronger than a normal led
- Cons: i can find only 2 main disatvantages that if you can live with this will be the phone for you
Smaller screen only 2 inches
and it lacks XENON

Ye,the C902 is a realy good phone, dont think id replace my K850 with it though. The smaller screen, stiff, thin and raised buttons realy put me off, and the K850s chunky yet compact design feels a lot better in hand for me. The weird fast port and loudspeaker positioning in the C902 was a bit of a put off for me as well, when you have the headset plugged in and are multitasking eg. Texting, the phone feels very uncomfortable to hold, but anyway thats just my opinion, its a stunning phone but not worth replacing a K850.

stiff buttons ???
if i compare my k850 against my c902 in this matter, i feel c902 keypad is easier to type on then K850 square, small buttons.
besides, all new phones have little stiff buttons in the beginning, but they gets normal after some week using.
k850 have one plus. and thats xenon.
c902 have several plus, such as build quality, design, camera, video quality(records in stereo + higher bitrate), 10mm thick, backpart made in rostfree steel.........
c902 is more well made (in several aspects) (thats my opinion)

The tiny screen is a bit of a downer. The silly touch sensitive shortcuts around the screen are not very responsive, so to sacrifice screen size on a camera centric device to accommodate them seems daft.
And yes the buttons are stiff. Not only that, the glossy finish makes them a little slippy, and they are angled the wrong way. Instead of pointing towards the screen, they point to the user which makes them a little uncomfortable to use.
I know a few C902 users and they all agree the phone is pretty good apart from the two points above. |

first of all, have you ever had c902 ??? (or have you just tried it some minutes)
besides, the touch keys works splendid (at least on my c902, i cant vouch for all c902 owners)... they are very responsive, no issue at all.
then if some people think they are overkill, thats another thing. (it has nothing to do "how" they works)
besides, i have never had a cellphone before who have same build quality after 8 months daily using.... (including all my flagships from t610 to c902)

Talking about slippy the C902 kept slipping down my hand lol, i held it the way i hold my K850, took some getting used to. Plank Relax, i think we all agree that its a pretty good phone.

If you are a speedy sms user you will notice the difference compared to other phones especially during the adjustment phase. After getting used to it I'm "ok" with the buttons. I think the K750i it replaced was easier to sms with one hand.
- no dedicated "return" button. I used this quite a bit on the 750... several quick presses without having to look at screen took me back to main screen. The same key location on the C902 functions as a back button in most menu but also does loads your Contacts if on main screen. Havent explored changing this but it may not be possible
- The jump from a 2mp camera to a 5mp isnt reflected in the pic quality. UNLESS you look at same pics side by side. Then you start seeing small improvements in several areas. The exception is in good lighting/cond where the camera does very well.
- still easy to take a bad photo. All the limitations in camera phones are still present. Some better, some may be worse.
- Flash
- Too much processing of some images. Overdone on the sharpen function
- typical power/accessory connecttion annoyance. If your only complaint will be the location you will have no issues. Function is fine though.
+ smaller screen than other phones but good quality image. Much improved over K750i and with higher resolution I still found it an improvement. If your old screen is larger with higher res it will be a "-"
+ Touch face camera controls work ok, if using phone case they will be hard to use.
+ Flash, for LED its good.
+ Good color reproduction in photos. Nice camera features
+ Build quality. Im very happy with this phone compared to others Ive had
+ Size
+ Improved PC software. |

ok lets clear this up with c902 touch keys once for all.
(record with my w810 in poor light so its no Hasselblad quality
anyway.... it shows that marty mcfly dosent have a clue what he talking about. (the touch keys works perfectly normal)

The numbers are most deffinately stiff, every C902 I've played with, including the one I bought had stiff numbers. |
