So while browsing eBay the other night, I see several listings for cheap LCD touch screens for the P1i. Has anyone bought one? How are they? Mine has enough marks in it that I'm ready to replace it, and the price can't be beat if they're any good.

The screens for $6 are simply the touch sensitive layer & not the full display, unless you're ok with some very delicate prising apart and refitting of the screen assembly, then pay more for the complete unit - would be a lot less hassle...

Good point, but for the small dollar amount it might be worth it. I don't feel like spending $60+ for the whole thing when it's not necessary.

Had a replacement delivered from eBay Ģ35, for my W960i after kneeling on it.
Swapping it out was a snip and the only issue is the control buttons for walkman feature do not light up. Not bothered so not taking it apart again to reset.

Cheaper than replacement phone option.

I'm going to order one this weekend and give it a try. I've already had my phone opened up to swap cases, so this shouldn't be that bad.

OK, finally got around to buying one tonight off eBay, for $5.99 shipped and insured. I expect it to arrive from Hong Kong in a week or so. Once I have it installed I'll post the results.

I donīt trust the Ebay sellers anymore. Most of them sell copied china shit. I allready bought 2 screens, and when comparing the screens with the original which was built, i every time found out that the material was poorer than the original one.

Once i had problems with a P900 screen and the touchpad. However watch out and pay a bit more for original items.

Sorry, haven't had the time to do the swap yet. Couldn't find my pick set at first, but now I have. I will try to do this over the weekend.

Well, installing the touch screen was pretty straightforward, if you read the directions first. Unfortunately I didn't and got a little over zealous taking things apart and damaged the main LCD screen. As Homer would say, DOH!
