i heard the nokias 5030 has a inbuilt antenna for its fm radio that means no more plugging your headset . I was just wondering what year will SE announce its phone with built in fm radio .to me having a bulit in anntena for the fm radio just crushed SE wealkan and radio models and also since this feature is going to be out i dont think the the w995 can stand it to me SE lost the match big time. i see that for SE to release this feature it might take another 2-3 years the same thing happened when all the phones released a 3.5mm jack who was the last to do that SE. this year is going to be the worst for SE since it has lost its CTO Mats and its presedent of SE last year. in my view they lift because something bad is going to happen . because when you hear that presedent lift then CTo left doesn't this give you a ring in your head that something is wrong with the company.Sony might leave Ericsson because they arent producing good product i have a feel that they have left because there is something wrong that they dont want to tell us.What do you think about this.?

I don't think it's trainsmasher for SE, but we'll have to see in the future. Nokia's low end range will definitely be fortified by this feature though...

W980 was supposed to be the first phone to have this feature, but SE dropped it. So much for being beaten.

^^^Read the first post first before commenting...

Having an inbuilt antenna for Radio is only befinicial for Nokia in the low-end segment as it doesn't matter much in mid and high end phones... You can say "nokia's first built in radio and Sony Ericsson is going down stair." in the low-end category only...

Though the addition of an inbuilt antenna is a bonus as the radio feature usage will increase.

W890 was supposed to have it >6 months earlier, too...but I don't think they could actually get it working well enough tbh, the W980 I saw running internal aerial had godawful reception quality at the time, more's the pity(and I still haven't found a prototype of either device with it yet, bah)......

Glad someone managed it though, radio's the only thing I usually need to use a headset for these days!

LOL. The nokia fanatics have really stepped down to a new low huh. A phone that nokia so far cannot beat in specs and all is going to be beat by the lowest of the low due to a built in radio? Damn that sounds logical im sure ill listen to them more.

the thing of having a built in radio is you can automatically work it you dont need you head phone to do so and why is it the SE released a twin brother of c905 why didnt release more walkman phone this year .this year is the worst for SE since:
A)releasing few phones.2 low end walkman and 1 high end ,4 cybershot and c901 is not in the status of the website and idou which will come out maybe q4.
B) the phones from SE are not that great .eg w705 poor camera and small keypads what happened to SE cant it release something interesting .

C)when you want to go buy a SE phone SE does a bad job eg. w902 good phone but is missing out wifi and gps .seriously it kills when you want a phone to suiet what you want.

I think this topic about internal antenna is making a mountain out of a molehill in order to create yet another Nokia vs SE debate, and we know how they end up

I'd say that 90% of people that use phones also use wired headsets.
Certainly on my daily commute I rarely see blutooth headsets except for ones used for voice communication in one ear

I think I'll close this right now
