Has anyone fixed the c905 earpiece problem themselves? |

I was an early adopter of the c905, I bought it online and it came from Singapore here to the U.S.
I now have the earpiece issue, SE USA says them wont fix it and I would have to send it to SE Singapore to get it worked on.
So.... I am pretty comfortable opening up phones and replacing components if I have a vague idea of what I am doing.
Has anyone identified the actual part/piece that goes bad in the c905? Is it the slider flex cable? (cnn.cn sells this part)
Thanks for any/all help |

i bought a replacement flex off e-bay. This part includes the piece of where the earpiece affixes to, the cable that runs behind the screen to the keypad on the slider (where i thought the fault is originating from). I replaced it but have the same problem. A friend of mine who had the same problem got his fixed when he took it to a friend who works in a mobile repair shop. He said he soldered a thin wire from one of the speaker pins to a button next to the speaker (to ground the speaker as this seems to be the problem, but i want to see a picture for myself first before acting so i know for sure where i should solder.. i'm desperate to fix this cos the only other way to use the phone is with the bluetooth headset.. and although it's all flashy and gadgety, I hate looking silly with the mobile in my hand but talking through it.. or when people talk to me cos they dont realise i'm on the phone :-S |
