Had a bash at the moon last night & remembered to remove
my UV filter & hoped for better shots.

Here it is after little tweak in Cs3 & noise removed with Noise Ninja.

Very nice details, but IMHO it looks a bit over-sharpened... At 300mm this must be a tight crop what lens did you use?

I was gonna have a go and taking apiccy of the moon last night but didnt get a chance. Might have a go tonight if the sky is clear.

Pretty cloudy 'round these parts.
Hoping it'll clear in a few hours, so I can load up my 650 with some Ektachrome and put it on a makeshift tripod.

Yes it is a little over sharpended (im still learning).

I used a Canon 90-300mm & it has been cropped.

Wow! AFAIK there is no IS version of that lens so you must have a very stable grip or you used a good tripod. There is very little (negligible) amount of CA so this lens must be very good too! Most pictures I took of the moon has never had any detail as good as this, exposure is perfect for me, just move your sharpening back a little... Well done!!!

Thanks bud - yes no IS & i used a Velbon tripod with a cable release.

I took a fair few shots & then cropped & sharpened the best of the bunch
(all be it a little too much).
