Nokia N79 or C905? Please advise |
Sphiwe Joined: Jul 18, 2008 Posts: 23 PM |
Hi everyone. The Nokia N79 has finally reached our shores in South Africa and it looks like a very nice phone. I don't think there's any reviews done on this phone as yet but I was wondering if anyone here has had a chance to play with the phone or has any knowledge of the features of the phone. I currently have a K850i and want to upgrade. The C905 is a great phone but it seems as if it is similar to some of the other great 5 Megapixel phones out there even though it has a 8.1 megapixel camera. I want to make a choice between the C905 and the N79. Any information or description of the N79's features and advice would be highly appreciated.
Thanks |

Thanks Achrat, I think I'll go for Nokia, sorry SE
Doesn't anyone have the list of the features the N79 have? I want to compare it with the C905 so I can be able to make a decision between the two phones... |

if you click "phones" in the top menu here on Esato, you can pick any 2 or 3 phones and compare
Here is N79 compared with C905

Thanks masseur but I the Esato Comparisin always compares the features of the phones that you choose. I wanted something like a "Review" of the N79 then at least I would know what to expect... |

How can you miss the endless reviews made for this phone? Googled it and this was the first one that came out

This is the kind of review I'm looking for and thanks!
I'm sure I'm ready to make my choice now.
Besides that I just want to know your views about the N79. Do you guys think its worthy of being as fantastic as the N82, K850i and all the other great phones? |

Hi Sphiwe
Ive got a K850 and played on N79. The N79 is far ahead in my opinion, get the N79, it will be a major upgrade, it has a fast UI, very nice keys, LOADS of S60 apps available to increase functionality, its VERY lite and small, made my K850 feel like a brick, good audio quality as well as great video recording quality, and multitasking on it is a breeze realy its generaly a great phone, and has loads more to offer and keep you entertained than a K850 or C905.

Hi Gucci, thanks for your advice. Since you say you've played a bit with the N79, could you tell me how is the Camera since it doesn't have a Xenon Flash but instead it has a LED's? |

n79 camera is weak imo, obviously with its led bulbs it's no match to xenon/3LED combo units in c905. and camera quality? even k770 beats it with better details and more realistic colors, nokia cameras are always too saturated, especially with the red and yellow colors it makes images look nice but they are far from reality which most SE camera phones render (except the crappy k850!) software on nokia is very stable but not as pretty as SE UI.

Well guys I have to be honest but Nokia has got my eye and I'm considering it but at the same time I'm not convinced it is one of the best phones so far which is why I'm seeking advice from people who've had experiences with Nokia phones or in this case, the N79. I'm a SE fan, no doubt but after having troubles with my K850i recently I'm not so devoted anymore. So for now I'm just seeking for a better phone |

I never did try the camera,as you can see in my signature i use a N81 as my main phone,so i dont realy care for a camera lol, but a double LED flash cant touch a xenon flash, so the C905 has the stronger flash, N79 is a Multimedia phone, its not focused on just one thing, so it will be fairly good at all that it does, image quality that ive seen is not as good as N95-8GB or N82, but decent, for me that is, im not a camera geek, pics do look better than what K850 can do,this is what ive seen on the net, never tested the camera myself when i had the N79 with me as i said.

I have the N79. It's a great phone, imo. Excellent camera. Fantastic video recording. Small, compact. I would recommend it. |
