Hiya peeps!!

I am quite new at debranding handsets and I have a few questions....

If I was to de-brand a handset, would that also unlock it at the same time? As the handset is now using generic software then it should also be unlocked?

Also, where is the best place to get the 'customize_upgrade' files for handsets such as the w890i etc?

Many thanks for your help!

No, debrand is just the software, not an unlock

Sign up on a website called topsony.com, you get 10 free downloads a month

Thanks!

Yes, but you have to pay, the charge is £8.96/$12.58/10€, and I know the C905 is not in the compatibility list but it is on the software, I have the software and unlocked 2 C905's using it last week:

It's called D-Ultimate Unlocker
I will guide toy through the unlocking process if you like

Thanks luke,

For now Im just getting to grips with de-branding lol...

Im having problems de-branding my W910i...

The A2 uploader is accessing the handset but after i drag and drop the file over and then disconnect the phone the file seems to disappear and the phone wont 'update' the CDA...

Is there a tutoprial for the W910i or can someone give me a quick flowchart?

Thanks in advance!!

You have to just turn the phone on to install the CDA

Thanks...

It looks like the CDA isnt the correct one...

I have 2 W910i's and the 1 I was able to de-brand without problems but the other isnt playing ball...

They are both unlocked and were branded with vodafone software...

The 1 that de-branded fine was the standard black edition and I thought I had done it wrong but when I tried to update through SEUS it picked up the generic western europe firmware fine

The 1 that is causing me problems is the bronze edition and when flashed with (what I think is) the correct firmware files it keeps giving me configuration errors...

I cannot seem to find the customize_upgrade file for western europe on 4share or any other media sites... Does anyone know where to find it?

Actually.. I have just noticed something...

There is already a customize_upgrade.xml file in the custom directory....

How do I remove this and replace it with the one I have (which I now know is the correct one lol)
