k850i problem after replacing cover |

Hi I tried to replace the cover using this guide:
http://www.formymobile.co.uk/Dismantle/k850idisassembly.htm
Although I failed to do this and now my phone is acting up. Maybe it is because I didn't remove the battery cover as I thought because I was not removing the front cover I'd skip that step am I correct? Well anyway so I tried to remove it using the credit card as the guide said and the first part with the camera buttons were very tricky. They would not budge and sort of twisted so I managed to put it right and after a few more failed attempts, gave up put the battery back in and turned it on. However now it jumps crazy like and I think it is the keypad although I don't how as I was never near this part. Basically if I touch anywhere in between the buttons it jumps about and takes me to the 'turn off' menu (the menu you'd get to if you pressed the off button once) It is generally slow and I can do anything on it without it going hectic. Pressing '2' then '3' makes the keypad lock with is very strange.
So can you give me advice on what to do please? How does the 'turn off' menu get activated when I was not even near the 'off; button. and how does the keypad be so hectic when I was not near that either.
I am totally panicking
do I need a new key pad? But why though as I can't see how I'd damage that.
Help me please thankyou
Thanks
EDIT: I figured out why it gives me the 'turn off' menu. it i press the grey side next to the off button it also reacts the off menu

It happened to me when i replaced the cover on my K850 too.
I removed the cover again, cleaned the keyboard conctacs with an especial cleaner (dont know the name) and conect it again, the 1st time it didnt work so i tried again 2 times more and it worked.
Try that and be careful with the part of the keyboard that is on the side (camera button) because it can lose it (fall) very easy and the only way of resolve that is replacing the entire keyboard (happened to me also )
Here is a pic:
Sorry for my english

Hi thanks for the reply. What do you mean it can 'lose it'? Like it breaks or something?
It seems to be very random sometimes it reacts when the back cover is pressed and just now it reacted when I pressed on the sides.
I've not actually managed to remove the back cover yet but just tried to remove it next to the buttons, so you think that I may have damaged the keypad bit (you showed on the picture) when trying to take the cover off and that I need to buy a whole new keypad? Is that right. And lastly, when you took the back cover off, did you remove the screws in the battery cover? Because I skipped that part as I though it held in the front cover. Thanks for the help
EDIT: Just tried using the camera slider, now photo, video mode both work fine but when I slid it to the review mode it was very stiff and need some force...

If it works when the phone is pressed, then the problem is the bad contact connection between the connector of the keypad and the motherboard... Try gently adjusting the flat cable to have better contact connection with the motherboard of the phone. Make sure it's clean also. It should work with no problems then.

Hi, what part is the flat cable? (I'm hopeless with this stuff ) It probably has got a load of dirt in it, but why did this problem then start after I had tried to open up the phone?
And it is not just in the keypad area it is also on the back and sides of the phone. I tried the keypad test in the secret service menu and pressed around the phone to see if anything came up. It told me the 'on/off' button had been pressed when I pushed randomly around the phones casing
EDIT: I just tried to take a picture auto focus worked okay and when I pressed down I had to do so much harder then normal it took the picture and also turned the phone off.

I think you should take it to a service center now.

Do you think so? I just don't understand though I only tried to open it on that side. So could it not be dirt that I pushed in or that the actual key pad is damage, you said it can easily 'fall down' Can you tell me what you mean with this. I think also you need to remove the battery flap which I never did and that holds down the back cover, but my back cover was already loose hence I the reason I did it in the first place.
So I was thinking I buy the screw driver try again to take it off and see if I can clean it.
I know you cannot remember the name of the clear stuff but do you know where you got it from?
Thanks for the help
EDIT: Now the down button and end call button does not work...maybe I do need a whole new keypad?
