Wow.. this seems to be major news.. nearly ALL initial 5800 XpressMusic devices came with defective speakers -- according to Mobile Review!

And there's an official release from the head of Nokia PR for Eurasia, to Mobile-Review which says thatthe issue has been now resolved. Read here

So, has anyone noticed this! ANd M-R actually tested 10 brand new handsets to confirm this, spending $4500 in the process!! -- even under an electron microscope!
T230 >> T610 >> Ngage QD >> N73 >> N85 >> Omnia HD >> And countless other review units

Interesting news. I know my mum just got a 5800 (even after I told her to get an X1 or C905) and it was sometime at the end of Jan/early Feb. I think I should probably get the IMEI checked for her for a production date. It shows that it's not only that sometimes have problems with their phones.

Mine had this problem..and teh nokia guys weren't even willing to replace my handset because they were 'pretty sure' that even the new one could have this problem..so i had to make my trip to the service center to get it fixed.

Actually i was expecting this article sooner or later as the service guy himself told me that all the early batch had faulty speakers.

On a side note...i'm not using my 5800 anymore...even though it works well now...got bored with it in a few weeks..have gone back to my g900.
S60 v5 has a lot of ground to catch up...it just doesn't cut it with the other touch screen OS' in the market.
here, have a puff
