Hi
If I upgrade my firmware on my C905, then will I loose all me messages on my phone memory?
Also when transfering messages to memory card, it says it will be lost if I upgrade software. That mean there is no way of saving them apart from using PC Suite? |

You can also use A2Uploader to backup all of ur messages (inbox, drafts & sent items). And even the sent items will be restored with the correct dates when u put the msg backup file back to phone using A2Uploader.
My phone explorer can also restore messgs, but only inbox items are restored with genuine dates, all other folder items will be restored by the date they upload.

Try 2 make a clean install of MPE. Uninstall and delete any data saved by MPE, restart ur pc and install it again. Now synchronize and then make a backup (option under Extras Tab). U can now backup while ur phone is not connected in the latest version of MY PHone Exp.
But remember, if you have thousands of msgs, then it will be a tedious job to restore via BT or cable etc. So its rather better u make a backup using A2Uploader. It'll take just a few second to restore all of ur msgs.

you can save your messeges on memorycard and you will not lose them then you upgrade your firmware.

Very Wrong
You won't have any message after the upgrade if u store msgs on m.stick.
Go to message settings->General->Save to and select Memory Card, it will warn you
Note: Messages cannot be read from mem.card if it is inserted into another device and will be lost if software is upgraded

I think you should backup the following folder: TPA\\SYSTEM\\messaging\\ |

SMS messages on the K800 are stored in three files and are in either...
system/messaging/sms/db/sim (sim card)
or..
system/messaging/sms/db/me (Memory card)
The three files to backup are...
messages.bin
tpdus.bin
address.bin
...Don't know if the path structure is the same on A2, but backing up these three files has worked for me.
BTW Email and MMS are stored in tpa/system/messaging

You need to backup only 1 file named "msg_int.dbf" located at the path tpa\\system\\messaging\\db. It contains all messages (inbox, drafts & sent items)
That is the best method coz it takes a few seconds only to restore thousand of messages by putting 1 file back to the phone

Thanks a lot buntoo!
Edit; Oops, how do you download the msg_int.dbf file from A2uploader to your PC? Im using thelatest version and I dont see any copy-button.
Edit again; Sorry figured it out already
