A way to protect the p800 screen. |

This requires modifying of the supplied protective case and I think it rules out the flip(I do not own the phone.)
What I'm gonna do is that I'll make a metal plate as wide as the phone and slightly taller than the screen. (this metal plate must be strong enough not to bend under reasonable pressure as it would then crush the screen.)
I'll sew this in fasten it to the protective case. with some kind of fastening mecanism so I can quickly remove it. and use the phone. The metal plate will put the pressure on the sides of the phone and spare the phone. (this will naturally increase both the size and the weight of the phone but I feel it is worth it...)
I is important that you sew the metal into some kind of fabric so as not to scratch the phone. Since the phone is slightly arched outwards bending the metal to suit the phone will increase rigidity of the plate.
It will be big and bulky but It is the only reasonably safe protection I can think of. If other people do this you can post pictures and the like so that we can all benefit from eachothers experience(You can use your awesome phone to take the pictures as long as it is not in the case)
Like I said. I do not own the phone. And therefore I have not done this. But I will at least make a good attempt once I get it. |

Don`t bother with all that, i just use the clear film pda screen protectors (cut down to size) made by "Fellowes", & called "WriteRIGHT" then just be carefull, very shortly someone will produce a hard case,or something similar to an ipaq case. |

scratches won't be a problem as it will reside in the case anyways.
Pressure will be the big problem.... |

The stylus doesn't scratch the screen right? |

No the stylus wont scratch the screen, but dust on the screen moved around by the stylus will scratch it, but as i said any clever owner of ANY touch screen should use adhesive (specially designed for pda`s) screen protectors.
If your worried about breaking the screen then take off the keypad because the little pins behind the keys are what does the damage, any weight applied to the keypad is transfered to a single pin, & thats a perfect way to break a screen. the keypad is not needed anyway. |

I bought some for an ipaq then cut to size £7.50 for 12 from a local office supplies, thats less than a dollar each, compared to $10 dollars each for above .....so shop around.
PS. cutting to size is easy if you make one very good template & draw round it for all. |

Do you think a local electronics shop would sell this?
Seem kinda foolish to order something like that from another country... |

Well a PC center that sells pda`s is more likely. my product is made in USA, but bought in UK you could check for a local supplier but there is only a phone number on the packaging it`s a US code 1-8009454545 |
