Apologies if this has already been posted about, i have had a quick look and cant see anything.

Basically my problem is that when i am texting or using my phone the backlight cuts out, the lights on the keypad stay lit up but the light for the screen goes off. If i hold the phone at the right angle i can see the screen is still on but the backlight is off so i can see nothing on screen. It stays off for about 20 seconds then the keyboard lights go out, as tho the backlight has timed out normally at which time i can push the buttons and the backlight comes back on.

Can anyone suggest a fix, other than takin it to O2 to be repaired. which i may do any way as i am also experiencing problems with the touch buttons too.

Seems to be a hardware problem (loose cable, or bad power supply to screen backlight). But I ink the problem is with the screen module only, not the phone itself. Take it to repair.

I think that will probably be my best idea. Do you know if this is likely to be classed as a chargable repair or will i not really know til someone has looked at the phone

But that can be a software problem. Do you have the latest firmware on it?

I am having the same problem. I went to a service center and they asked me to change my entire display which would cost me about 1500 Rs.( 1 dollar= 50 Rs approx)... Is there ne other solution to this problem???

This is a screen problem. The membrane attaching the screen to the mother board passes directly underneath the down, 5,6,8 and 9 buttons. I'm guessing that the down button is the one that gets most widely used so I presume over time the pressure knackers the membrane.

I got a replacement screen off ebay and changed it myself. Works a treat. There is a handy video guide on youtube for dismantling it.

I got the same problem today when I accidentally drop my k850 and hit the edge of my table. I found at the left side of my phone small peeled off near to button number 1. Every time I use number 1 button the light cut off and l have to wait until 20s to get back the light.

Ai maybe on ebay. Or a waterdamaged one, cause you only need the cables? I hope someone can confirm me on that.
