My situation is that my phone was sent on Aug. 27 02 to ericsson in Florida for repair (I live in Canada) and I got it back on Oct. 27th, 02. I was told that ericsson has a 90 day warranty on repairs, but my 1-year warranty on the phone ended in Nov. 02 according to the date of manufacture on the phone (the phone was a gift, so i don't have a receipt). Now my phone is broken again with the same problem. Is my phone still under warranty? (because the 90 day warranty isn't up yet, but the 1-year is up)

Furthermore, this is the third occurrence of the same problem. The first 2 times i got it fixed, they had to send it away and it took approx. 2 months each time before i can get my phone back. Does this happen anywhere else? Or there are actually repair centers that can fix your phone (i mean fix speaker/mic problems, do software upgrades, etc.) without sending it to ericsson? Because I have to send it away even for a software upgrades.

Also today I was told by the service technician that my service provider discontinued business with the "official ericsson service center" that they sent my phone twice to because they found phones were not actually repaired by the company and if repaired took 3-4 months. Now i have doubts even if they fixed my phone at all.

Sorry for the long post...

Can you guys give me some suggestions as to what i can do? I mean I hope they just replace the damn thing, cuz its the same problem (i get no network) over and over again and I didn't have my phone for 4 months out of the 1-year warranty. Thanks in advance.

...it's still under warranty eventhough your 1 yr. warranty was already ended co'z you sent your unit for repair and with that it has a extension of 3 months warranty from the date of release.

better request them for the replacement of a new unit co'z of the hassle and as you've said it was already repaired for 3 times.

I've tried to convince them to replace my phone when i call customer service, but they can't do anything there. It's always "sorry sir, but i cannot do anything from here, it'll be up to the technicians if they feel that the unit is unrepairable."

sonyericsson customer support just sucks, i hate them...

but i read on the board that a lot of ppl especially those who have t68 and are having problems always gets their replaced...how do you guys do it?

here in the phils. when you experience 3-4 times of phone problem with same defect and still under warranty......we can request for a replacement. and there's a big possiblity that it will be granted.

Ur prob is complicated due to the fact that u cant talk live with those technicians! I mean, if the phone broke down 2 times and it takes 3 months to fix it (transport and handling included) then ur waranty should be prolongued with 6 months(the ones in which u didnt use the phone)! try this one, cuz it's pretty natural ...or buy urself a phone u can repair in ur own town!it doesn't worth it to wait 2 moths everytime it breaks down!

Why are mobile phones of so poor quality? I have a 2 year old amplifier, 3 year old minidisc player, 2 year old ps2, probably 7-6 year old tv, couple of years old pc and all these are working like a charm... Also. Old cell phones like old motorolas,old ericssons(like the r320)
Are also alot more dependable(I'm not the type of guy who says that the old phones was the best just because of reliability, I'm more of a feature guy).

The manufacturing and marketing ideeas have changed in the mid 90s.The big players think that ppl want cheaper and less reliable of course phones (for example) and when they break down, we just buy another( same model or other newer if we want) !It's cheaper right?:))) This is the big ideea ... i'm not fond of it but the firms are...

i've called ericsson demanding atleast an extension on my warranty, but they just keep saying they can't do that! i'm so frustrated with their customer service, they can't do anything. and they won't let me speak to anyone with the authority to do so either! They just keep telling me "i can't extend your warranty or anything and i don't know who can."

their excuse is "i'm sorry that you have to send it away for so long, but that's our only repair center." They have no support in Canada and its not i live in some remote area, i live in Vancouver!

aah so frustrated!

As i said f&^% 'em and buy another brand that has support OR buy 2 models and use em by rotation:) I'd do that if i like a model so much:)

actually, there is one repair place, but it's in newmarket.
rogers sends SE's there if repair's needed.
