I have had my 850i for about a year now and around 3 months ago my softkeys started playing up.

They started out being unresponsive or triggering the "back" function when i press the 5 or Down key on the phone.

To make things worse they dont work at all for 99% of the time. As you can imagine this is shitting me.

I havnt updated the firmware, installed any 3rd party software, or changed anything in the phone cause i didnt want to f**k it up.

Any suggestions?????? i dont want to pay for repairs!

Hi i have exactly the same problem, the back key keeps getting triggered when i hit other keys, luckily they work most of the time just with the back problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

Its a hardware problem, it can be solved only by replacing the keypad.

Definitely hardware problem; I would leave it alone for a day or 2, if it still occurs, I would bring it back for your warranty or buy a new part.

ok ok... to confirm... it is HARDWARE... this is what u have to do...

the softkeys have 2 parts... one of em is in the botton of the display... and the other one in the keypad... so.. u have to check wich one is F*** up... sometimes (like what happened to me) both of em got F. up and its a lil expens. to fix it...

u may have to buy a new display or keypad... maybe both...
good luck...
