SMS to M2 memory stick and back again |

Hi!
New guy from Sweden here with a bit of a problem for you Wizes.
Not really, since it isn't world important, but I'd like to know if it's doable!
I have a Z770i that I handed in for service. Before that I used my phone copying all SMS (and MMS) messages from phone to my M2 stick. Of course, I was warned that these messages couldn't be opened on another phone or if the software (firmware) was updated on my own phone.
During service they changed the antenna and updated my software, all the while I was using a borrowed phone from my service provider.
Now, of course, I can't open my SMS messages when I put the M2 back in my Z770i phone.
Is there a way to somehow extract messages from my M2 stick? I do find fragments of the MMS ones in the M2 system folder.
Also, doing a backup of my "new" SMS messages with PC suite they are located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony Ericsson\Sony Ericsson PC Suite\document\, files ending with .num, .UMS and .SMS of which the latter you can open with notepad.
No matter how I choose to connect my phone I can't find SMS files anywhere on either M2 or phone.
I guess I should have done a "real" backup in the first place, but I'm sure there must be some way to get the actual SMS files in phone or my copied ones on the M2 viewable with a computer. (I have already set "unhide files").
Any help would be much appreciated!
Best regards,

Unfortunately we don't know much about that. When you save the messages on the memorystick, they are placed somewhere that you can't see/access (possibly in a reserved memory space). As from now, use MyPhoneExplorer to backup your text message regularly. |
