My SE used to be fine but now goes into what i can only describe as a coma
It goes to sleep (screen goes black)
It's still working fine because it rings when a call comes in, the alarm goes off but none of the keys (not even the power button) will wake it up/answer a call or stop the alarm
Only way to wake it up is take out/replace the battery then it's fine again
The keyboard works perfectly whilstever it's awake.
I have replaced the battery, run master reset, upgraded latest firmware
Questions:
1/ What's the point of screen saver (it only appears for 2 seconds before screen blacks out anyway)?????
2/ I'm sure my old SE's used to have a clock screen saver that bounced around the screen (hopefully keeping it awake) but i cant see this option on mine - Have you got this option and where is it on your phone?
3/ Would a re-flash work and can I do it? (how does a phone become 'UN'-flashed?)
I have w890i which i left to the end on purpose because it must affect more models i want to know generic answers to the questions |

1. Screensavers on phones are just one of those pointless features. Back in the days of crt's a static image would "burn" into the screen, a screensaver either makes a moving image or makes a really dark image to stop the burn. LCD's don't suffer from this therefore it is useless.
2. They removed it to save battery.
3. To reflash just use SEUS

I realised the purpose of screensaver (to prevent screen burn) - but i cant imagine anyone (even S/E) designing "a feature", that must cost loads and blanket installed on 10's millions of phones and it only appears for 2 seconds?????? (i.e has absolutely zero use) - which leads me to suspect that im missing something somewhere and the real answer might stop my phone going to sleep/ into a coma
SEUS sounds easy when you say it fast
Have you got a link to any info on this?
Thanks

"I realised the purpose of screensaver (to prevent screen burn)"
as yea says, the only function provided by screensavers in this day and age is for novelty value

K700i > K750i > K810i (current phone)

There's not even any 'novelty value' in showing a picture for 2 seconds
but it seems it's true - Sony Ericsson have blanket installed 'a feature' with zero use
if anyone from SE is listening - get rid of it - replace it with variable sleep time so you can play a game without it going to sleep on you
