Is there a simple reminder application that I can set an alarm to remind me of some event. I don't want to use the calendar for this. |

Honestly, i havent had such application.
But you can search at getjar if its available. |

I just downloaded and found out that it uses reminder from the default calender. 
Edit: I found few at getjar. Just search for reminder.

Er... why don't you just use the alarm clock?
Or the Tasks menu?
