Is there a way to bar or block phone numbers calling you?

No, not that I know of! We are talking about the phone company or operator, and unless they will offer it, like here in the U.S. of A. the Landline Companies offer it, then there will be no real blocking!

The only way is to use some programs that manage sms, mms, voicemail and thereby incoming calls. With those programs you can set up black lists, etc. and the program 'drops the call' but first it has to be received. Which makes it that the caller won't know about it.

I would prefer an operator annoucement like the landline companies, your call is undesired / has been blocked! Only that way, this caller might stop calling.

Look under smartphones software, they should have some there. [addsig]

As michael the mage says, check the iPhone application store they may have something.
Regarding SE, what SE phone/OS you using? is it WM based?, UIQ based?, Java based?

UIQ phones have the feature integrated in them and you can use advanced call manager from http://www.webgate.bg

I once tried using this thing called closed user group when i was using a noki. What heppaned is that when the guy call, his name doesnt display. You only see the number.

Okay back to topic, I was wondering that if the phone cant do it, maybe the network operator can do it for you. Just try them maybe they will be able to help you

networks won't block the call for you

the viewty and other LGs allows blocking of callers and anonymous callers, but most phones dont offer that facility.
