No info on that out in the public. And even if insiders knew.. they wouldn't tell you.

It would be awesome if SE used OLED screens since they make such brilliant displays, i dont think ive ever used a phone with a better display than my K850's.

Its probably inevitable that they'll be more commonplace once the cost comes down. They have a lot of advantages.

OLED screens are indeed poor in daylight (as my N85 proves) and the other problem is that the colours always look wrong. I know the technology is always improving, but the N85 (and previous handsets from Samsung) have always had a weird green/orange/brown tint to them.

But, the power saving aspect and a super high contrast probably makes it worth the slight difference in colour accuracy. The N85 can sit with a status bar on 24/7 and hardly impact on the battery at all (try 3-4 days on standby, albeit doing nothing else). Because it's illuminated, unlike a normal LCD in power saving mode where you rely on light reflecting off it, you can read it easily from a distance.

Clearly OLEDs will be good for television (as long as the colours are corrected properly) but for a mobile - the outdoor issue is a huge concern. That's far more important than how good it is in standby mode!
