I currently am on an Orange contract, my contract finishes today, i was wondering will i be able to continue using the orange simcard in the phone for a few days? or will i have to get a pay as you go sim card? I am looking to go back to o2 pay as you go, i am wanting to keep my number, how do i go about this and how long should it take to tranfer it across? |

Call Orange and ask for a PAC code. They may give it to you over the phone or they may send it to you by post. When you get the code you give that to O2 who will trnasfer th number from Orange to O2. The process can take upto 5 working days.

The normal way to do it is to goto O2 to get your new Sim (contract or PAYG). When you buy it tell them you want to port your number (using the PAC code). As this takes a few days you have a temporary number from O2 until your old number is moved. Your old Orange account wont stop until the number is moved so for a few days you will have your old number on Orange and a temp number on O2.
