Thinking I have found the phone that i want...the HTC Touch HD

I watch alot of films on my N95 8GB (during work obviously lol) so think this would be a really good phone to go for.

Anyone else got any thoughts???

Hi procterdc, HD (blackstone) is a great phone, get rid of touchflo as its a crapy sales gimmick, get all th apps to properly customise it & u have a very good internet & media phone, battery life is not crapy as some people report, provided u tweak th phone, took me easily a month to full appreciate how good this phone is, particularly when it comes to fast one handed imput, can't imagine why th above poster is selling his, maybe he has 2 ??

Hi pachy!

Selling because have a BlackBerry Bold. The thing I like about the Bold is the Japanese input is sweet.

Like the HTC Touch HD very much but the Japanese is not so good. I wish I had the Bold's OS, with the iPhones Japanese input ( or the Bold's Japanese input ) in the HTC Touch HD.

Don't really need both...

Tell me more about the tweaks that you did please!

After nearly a month of using my HTC Touch HD I am fairly impressed. Have installed HDTweak, Advanced Config, Total Commander, Omniano (touchscreen piano) and Star Trek Tricorder (just for laughs) The tweaks I have done based on other ppl doing the same, has actually sped this little beast up, which is good.

Not really impressed with graphics on Touch Flo home screen, which seems to be an ongoing issue over at XDA developers. But have manged to install some nice themes, get some films converted using GUI converter and generally customize the phone to the way I want it.

Apparantly there is an update for touchflo 3d in the works which will update the calender and calculator app (cos the ones I have are pants)

Going back to films, the speaker on this is poor, but then I was rather spoilt by the N95 8GB's speakers previously...However I have rectified this by investing in some Ipod travel speakers and keeping them in my car (as that is where I watch most of my films lol, during work)

However nice this phone maybe though...If i'd have waited a few weeks longer, I may have gone for the Omnia HD, but never mind...a phone is just a phone lol

Another 6 months on... I have now mastered the art of "flashing roms" and am now running Duttys 3.9XT 6.1 which makes my phone run like its got a rocket installed lol. Battery life now lasts alot longer and strangely my wi-fi seems to reach further???

I'm (im)patiently wating on the blackstone android project to be finished so I can play with that, but at the moment am very happy with my Touch HD. I get to upgrade again in April, so am looking forward to seeing what will be available then.

Oh and on a seperate note, did anyone get 'the' orange text message and do anything about it???? I got them to reduce my tariff down £15p/m lol. Now only paying £19.98 for 400 mins, unlimited text/internet. Woop!!
