Hi All

First of all, I apologise if this has been discussed before, but I have only just joined this forum

Does anyone know how you can delete the recipient list when you send text messages? I've tried the C button, with no joy. It gives the option to 'mark' contacts, but I believe this is just to send the message to multiple people. If anyone could shed some light on this I would be very grateful

Thanks a lot

Hi there, welcome to ESATO.

Do you mean the list of recent contacts when you choose a contact. If so, you can do what you said, if the phone is unbranded, but this may not be the case for branded devices.

If you can tell us if you've got a branded phone, we can see what we can do.

Hi

Yeah, that's what I mean. It is branded to the Orange network, does this mean i'm unable to clear the list?

I'm going to guess its due to the orange branding, they'll usually change a bit with orange.

If you de-brand the phone, you'll be able to delete the contacts, and probably not have all their other junk on there too.

Right, i haven't had to de-brand a handset in a while, so i don't know which service is better than the other anymore.

you can either go on http://www.wotanserver.com/en/ or http://davinciteam.co.uk/phones.html?phones=SE and follow the guides and instructions there.

The basic premise is you'll install their software on your PC and using the USB cable that came with the phone re-flash the phones frimware. You will wipe the phone clean, so it'll be as if you first got it again, so back everything up.

You'll have to pay for a credit, it think its about £4 ish, but don't quote me on that. You choose the generic firmware and flash it, and you'll be done.

You'll also be able to update the phones firmware through sony ericsson and still have it unbranded afterwards too.

Hopefully that wasn't too confusing!

EDIT: seems like Wotanserver doesn't have the files for the C905, but Da Vinci does.

You shouldnt need to debrand your phone, I have a branded phone and all I do is go to write a message , leave it blank and then press send, that brings up all recent recipients and then you should be able to delete them with the C button.

Sorry if this question sounds tupid but I'm a newbie, Does unlocked mean the same as unbranded, an if no what is the benefits of unbranding.

I bought my c905 sim free and new a while ago and how would I tell if it is unbranded?

Thanks Everyone

@monkey_chick

If it's unbranded then you would see no operator logos anywhere and the softkeys have factory default functions.
