@tranced: Thanks so much, that worked perfectly. [Annoyingly the instructions I found on the web said specifically to use drag'n'drop for both to and from the phone.]
RIGHT_SOFTKEY_HOOK.itm is in this directory: tpa/preset/custom
But there is no: LEFT_SOFTKEY_HOOK.itm
Where do I find the file to alter to change what my left softkey does?
Also my right navigation key has a shortcut that I'd like to change again this has been modified by the Vodafone branding and I'm unable to change it in the phone's settings. Where might that file be found and what would it be called?

@mattst: maybe there file doesn't exist because it is branded(?).

What do you think would happen if I created LEFT_SOFTKEY_HOOK.itm made from the template of the right version? Is the worst case scenario it doesn't work, so delete it, and back to normal?

Any ideas for what or where the right navigation key file might be, it's been modded by the vodafone branding? |

Many, many thanks for all your help.
One final question, in that thread it says that instead of doing a "master reset the settings" after adding something you can "delete these 2 files cust_menu_data.dat & cust_menu_done_unpacking.dat found in this location TPA\PRESET\SYSTEM\CUSTMENU", close a2uploader, and start the phone as normal.
Will this work on the C510 as well? And am I correct in thinking those 2 .dat files are recreated on startup by the firmware?

lots of small nice stuff with this phone. love it!
one full charge lasted almost a week with minimal use.

Forgive me if this has been discussed a million times before.
Can someone post a dummies guide on how to debrand a C510, i`m on Vodafone and i want to get rid of Live and the Vodafone start up screen. I`m not a techie so i`m not clued up in this area, if its fairly straight forward i`ll have a go.

Sorry to be annoying but can I change the selection key (not navigation key) shortcuts with an unbranded C510.

PS. Yes Bonovox I did want the White & Red version, and the whole upgrade package that I got from Vodafone with my renewed contract was excellent.

guys, have you noticed something on the code memo? i cannot see what I'm typing as for my password. the textbox that holds the letter/numbers that you type in is quite small for you to see what you are typing... so far I have manage to enter a passcode but everytime i go back to access the code memo, im a bit annoyed with the textbox that im typing in... i can manage to put my number passcode but a bit annoying... |

how do we add more themes in c510? I tried to access media transfer to USB and tried to drop the file under "themes" but I cannot get it through, it says that the file is not supported! How do we add more themes? In my old w800i, I just drop them under themes folder and instantly I'm able to get it inside. Please help. |

What is the theme extension that you want to put to your phone, is it .thm?

Sorry mate when you said shortcuts i read it wrong i thought you meant the D pad for shortcuts. You meant the soft keys and i was thinking yes you can but at the time i had a Nokia in front of me and on Nokia phones you can change both soft keys to any shortcut. Sorry for confusion.
