Hello, I'm new to this forum. The reason I came to this forum was because my SE G900 annoys me. I don't know how to save my text messages to my computer. I now have about 4000 sent and received messages combined.
And I can't find any program that saves this to the pc. With every program I tried, he was collecting all messages but he didn't show any.

And I'm really attached to all of my messages. With my previous phone, nokia 6230, I could easily store them on my pc with just nokia pc suite. Now I don't really use SE pc suite because it sucks actually. I can't even properly send media to my phone because I can't work with SE Media Manager. There isn't any button to click that sends media in that program...

Last question is about latest firmware: I read there was new firmware with a new theme. Is all I have to do is update it with SE Updater? And will my text messages be deleted then?

If anyone can help me, it'd be very much appreciated, this problem has been going on for so long. I've always been postponing my problems but now I want them fixed.

Kind regards

Hi You can use my phone explorer to save messages by archiving them.
To update u just have to use SE updater but you're right the messages will be deleted unless you backup with SE suite. The backup manager in there is quite easy to use and in advanced mode you can choose what to backup.
Good luck!

Thanks for the answer, but My Phone Explorer doesn't show the messages. It says it is collecting them. But than he doesn't show any. Could it be because there are so much? Though I still don't want to lose any, I've already deleted some, but I can't delete any other because they have a big sentimental value to me.

Oh my, it worked
No, I guess I had an old version.
The only problem now is the he can't sync my contacts and organiser.
It says it SE pc-suite needs to be installed. But it is.

Edit: it says it cant load Symbian-Connect-Runtime, SE pc suite needs to be installed.

Weird

Thanks again, that worked
But then all my messages were stored to archive. Plus my received messages all had the date of today. So I thought that wasn't normal.. I deleted all the messages from MPE and then synchronised again. But then none of my messages showed. Now I'm back at the beginning Should I reinstall MPE?
Or is there anything else I can do?

Are you using the cable when you using MPE ??
Bluetooth isnt supported for the G900 in MPE.

Yes I'm using a cable.
Bluetooth isn't handy with a sony ericsson, in my opinion.

No, still no messages.
I feel bad because I had them this morning
And then I deleted them because the date wasn't right.
And now they're gone. I still have them on my phone though.

Edit 1: I'm going to try to delete my phone from MPE and reconnect it.

Edit 2: It failed, still no messages

Edit 3: But perhaps MPE stored them somewhere else on my pc? Though I can't find it anywhere.

yeh i forgot to say that the dates will all be the same in MPE archive.
Try uninstalling MPE and make sure to deleted manulally the installation folder in program files etc then reinstall.

And btw to the other posters - bluetooth does work with MPE and smart phones.

Hmm, it worked half.
The messages I get now, he registers it.
So now I have 2 messages in MPE.
And it doesnt show my sent messages which I just sent.
I thought I deleted all.. Nothing in my programs and nothing in program files.
I guess it's hopeless

Waw it worked
You really are the most helpful man I've ever met on the internet!
Again! You saved my from a hopeless situation! Thank you very much!

Too bad the sent messages are randomly placed, and without a date. But at least I have the received messages

Thanks thanks thanks

Edit: And I can't move the sent messages to some place else in my phone? Like there is some kind of application that lets you view hidden maps. Maybe my messages are stored in a hidden map I can move?
