Update on faults with C905 |

So far here is the timescale of faults mines has received.
*Got the phone in October. Developed fault in ear piece in late November and was sent away to be fixed. The key's started to look used and scratched.
*The Slider was very loose and shook about and discovered this was a common fault. The phone had the slider fixed on repair the first time and it was fixed but it's starting to become lose again.
*I dropped the phone a few weeks ago and any other SE would be fine but this has a small dent in the grey part of the phone. Seems the quality behind the tough looking exterior is poor.
*The shortcuts key started not working after a few weeks. I had to turn it off and it worked for a few days (same problem K850i had).
*The keys started to click and crackle in the cold weather after about a months use.
*Early January 2009: Ear Piece packs in again
*Tonight the keypad has come lose, showing signs of wear and the keypad is now looking badly scratched. The number keys are almost hanging off so this is a major fault.
*The housing of the phone is starting to swell up both the keys and screen seem to be hanging further up.
It's clear the phone is dreadfully made. I have never owned a Sony Ericcson or any phone with such rubbish build. So I have a phone awaiting second repair with numerous faults.
I think it's safe to say the C905 is a goner. I have lost faith in a good phone, perfect on paper software seems good but the actual phone is falling apart. My K850i developed the keypad fault so this is the second top end model to go this way.
The reliable days of the K750i and K800i are gone. Note Carphone Warehouse still sell the K800i from around 2006/07? the K850i was terrible for repairs.

Oh dear and SonyEricsson said they were going to improve things recently. Or did i hear wrong. Its not good enough really is it. I had a K800i for quite some time and never had a single problem with it except the joystick drove me mad at times. Very good phone that grab one while ya still can.

Yes I have owned the K800i and its a good phone.
I am going to say now the K850i is a better build phone regardless of it's software faults. The C905 is a joke It beats me how it got out the factory. |

Granted the earpiece failed on my phone but otherwise it has been perfect, I've had mine since November 4, so two months now. I hope the earpiece gets fixed with a software update but I may be sending the phone in to have that fixed. Outside of the earpiece this is the best SE phone I have ever owned, the p800i had far worse build quality my friend. |

Well this simply isn't good enough is it? Whatever happened to the good old days of my W900? |

I should post some pictures of the phone to see how bad it is.
It's not capable I fork out £400+ for a phone which is the worst made I have ever come across.
It's a great phone but seems the build and earpiece is wrong. I am stuck getting repairs on a useless phone now. I can't afford another £400 on this. |
