ive dropped my c905 down the toilet and it's dead!

taken it to a repair shop, but i'm not holding out much hope!

tip for other people, i tried taking it back to the shop i bought it from for the guarantee, but they knew straight away it was water damage, as all phones now a days, have around 4 white paper spots on them, normally one on the battery, one on the inside casing, and 2 actually inside the phone, as soon as water touches them they turn from white to bright red!!

if it is dead, any tips on what i can do to minimise my loss financially? i love the c905, but this was my third handset, after having the stiff buttons, and also the earpiece breaking, i really dont wanna spend another £350 just to have a load more problems!

I'm just gutted i finally got one that seemed to work alright then dropped it and killed it

Simple fix.
Get a IPA (Iso Propyl Solution).
Open the phone.Apply a few drops of IPA on the Main Board and clean the contacts, resistors,ic's legs with the brush and blow hot air using a Hair Drier after you clean it completely.
That should sort it out.
Do not charge the phone until you do this.

hi thanks guy's, i did actually try and charge it at time when i got in from the night out, then i read on net about taking battery out and not charging etc ooopps lol

got it in a repair shop now not really holding my breath though, but it's worth £20 to try rather than have to pay 300+ for a new one.

if i buy a new one in future i'll definatly take insurance now though, on something cheap i wouldnt bother, but on a £350 phone it would be stupid not to, i realise this now!

The first thing you don't do with an wet electrical device is connect it to electricity.

Lesson learned.
