I really want to remove these protected Java Apps on my SE K850i |

I have found countless "solutions" to this problem on the net. I fear that it is all to much for my little brain to handle... Please can someone tell me (or direct me to a site) in simple step by step terms what I have to do?
I have so far downloaded FAR Manager which I had no luck with. Also tried XSS++ which always "can't connect"
I've had this phone for over a year now and I'm about to give up on it
I'm sure it's all this extra crap which slows the whole thing down |

Those App that you mentioned don't work with K850i.
You need to download A2 uploader.
Get it here

Use A2Uploader and go to TPA/PRESET/SYSTEM/AMS
There you'll see the jad and jar files. Right click the apps you want to remove and change read-only attributes.
Click Shutdown FS.
Turn phone on and delete the apps.
That's it. It worked like a charm on my W910.

Thanks very much!! So far so good. I've downloaded it and the furthest I've got is in to TPA/PRESET/SYSTEM/AMS as you directed.
Now i'm assume that "SET RW" means Set Read and Write permissions...
If that is correct, then what I did didn't work
I right clicked al files in that folder and clicked said "SET RW".
Shut down FileSystem and tried to delete.
Still protected
Please let me know what i'm doing wrong.... |

Just right click & then delete them through A2 uploader. |

All protected!!! Well they're dead now- good riddance!! |

No you shouldn't have deleted them directly from A2uploader, when you delete the jad/jar file, the contents are deleted but not the installation.
Try to download the java apps you have deleted, install them again so as you can uninstall them again.

If you don't want none of the games or applications installed on the phone
then delete everything in this dir TPA/PRESET/SYSTEM/AMS
Warning this will delete every game & application installed on the phone |

Does anyone else think it would be a good idea to "Sticky" this thread somewhere or something? I mean I searched for this info for weeks before posting here... I just think the response I got was so very concise and I am sure it would VERY useful to many other people. |

We tend not to sticky things on esato, it's easier for regular members to look at the latest topics that way, but if you like, you could bookmark it |

How can I change the function of the left softkey during standby(shortcut) at the moment it is "launcher" from 3UK.
I cannot do it in settings as this choice is not available. |
