Samsung Omnia debranding help |

I have a Vodafone branded Omnia which im looking at debranding.
I found this website http://www.samsungmobile.com/support/omnia/index.jsp
and used it to upgrade my current Vodafone firmware by typing in my current firmware code and download the update.
If I was to get hold of a generic Samsung firmware code and download the updated generic firmware and install this onto my Vodadone branded set would it debrand it?
If anyone has any solutions or any other help that would be great.
Many Thanks
James

Thanks Nanu, the link helped and if anyone needs any help with this just ask. I managed it first time round and now happily have a unlocked and debranded Omnia.

SEP - Did you download HH3 and debrand? I'm thinking of doing my wifes i900V. I've upgraded mine loads of times but mine is a SIM free handset and no problem. Isn't the Pre-configuration menu disabled on the Voda handsets?

Hi dainesefreak, my Omnia is/was a i900v and I used the following site
http://www.modaco.com/content[....]ncorrect-software-version-fix/
to debrand my handset. Once in this page I downloaded this file.
**DTHJ5 (full update, tested OK, latest English):**
Took about 10 minutes once I have downloaded the file and double clicked the .exe, left my phone and when I came back it was as good as new......no Voda splash screens/live! buttons on menus etc.
Hope this helps in some way.
Regards
James
