My first fault with my C905.

went to charge my battery today and the phone says:

Battery cannot be charged. You must use a Sony Ericsson Batery.

I have already done a master reset and i dont have enough charge to re-flash.

anyone have any ideas.

My firmware version is: R1BA042 and is also a 08W44 handset

i removed the battery and put it back then held the C key whilst inserting the charger, it is now showing the charging animation.

Sounds to me like one of the pins connecting the battery to the phone is damaged (specifically the middle one, as it is the one that carries data)

@enk39

Happened with two of my batteries (on a Nokia 6600) years back. The problem was with either the aftermarket charger or the aftermarket battery.
