Nokia 5800 xpress VS Iphone 2G |

I was so focused on the Iphone that I didn't noticed that Nokia was just releasing a touch 3.2'' phone!!
budget wise I can afford a 5800 xpress music or a used Iphone 2G(+-400$)
What I have seen from the specs, the nokia has some advantages:
-better resolution
-better camera(but not so much)
-video VGA @ 30 fps
-internal GPS
-loud speaker
-better battery
-FULL bluetooth capabilities
On the other hand, the iphone has:
-better build(but a used is always scratched)
-better GUI(fun)
-bigger screen(but bigger body size too so we can't use single hand)
With all that infos the cell shop I know still preffer a used iphone over a new 5800!!!
SO please help me choose wisely!!

All the Russian reviews(MR & others) are saying the 5800 is an exellent phone with the ''best'' screen ever!!
The conclusions saying that the only advantage of the Iphone is the ''wow'' look while the 5800 is plasticky, but I am afraid that you get tired of this look very fast while complaining of the lack of...eveything!
Man I just saw that the Iphone can't use alarm if the main unit is Off!!
I think I will go for the 5800 XM hoping that the next iphone will have some BASIC features as full bluetooth, full alarm, one handed calls possibility....

Vegetaleb,
Have you ever used an iphone to make a call? Says who that you need to use two hands to make a call? iphone isnt as chunky as you might think. when making a call you hold the iphone in your palm and dial the numbers with your thumb, just like any other traditional mobile phone. It does not require you to use both hands.

It sounds to me like vegetaleb is not ready to accept the compromises of the iPhone and fair enough too as it is basically a iPod Touch merged with a Nokia 1110. My iPhone without 3G would be unbearable; choosing between the 2G iPhone and the 5800 I'd go for the (cough) Nokia (choke) -can't believe I'm recommending a Nokia.

I've been using iphone 2g for past 5 months. I love Internet on the go, I don't have the internet package on my iphone but do most people really need it? Most of the time I'm either at home or at university and I connect through wifi and get fullspeed internet free of cost.
Although iphone does lack some very basic features which is sickening to think of in this day and age..i.e. you cannot delete individual sms messages, cannot send mms, no video calling etc

Ye, rather take 5800xm. I played on one earlier this month and just loved it to bits. UI is fast, the screen is excellent, crystal clear and colourful, great loudspeakers, and you are able to use the phone in landscape in any app, even its AZERTY or whatever keyboard switches to landscape, realy great device, if i can il get it.

Dear vegetaleb
you are absolutely right ..........Nokia 5800 is an Apple Iphone Killer. Nokia 5800 has better specifications and nice look.
last night while surfing internet i came to one site which says that there are major 20 reasons why Nokia 5800 is preferred over Apple Iphone.
i am giving the url of that link for your reference:

to be honest it all depends on what you are going to use the phone for.
For me the biggest negative for the 5800xm is the screen being capacitive rather than resistive. Easier to use a resisitive like the iphone screen! |

I do find the 5800 screen to be quite good though, although there's not much cause so far for dragging except in google maps and the Garmin XT software. Most of what I need to do is simply point and cilck but I haven't yet taken the stylus out so thats a good point
its not an "iphone killer" though and I don't see me ditching the iphone for the 5800
