Hi Guys

anyone else out there using GPSED on their C702s?

Records the full track correctly in terms of location but seems to have a problem with the timings, eg it thinks I managed to cover 25 miles in 5 minutes!!!

I have raised a query with the authors (after all it is still beta) but would be interested to know if any other C702 users have had the same issue

Many Thanks

That's weird. Doesn't it use the internal clock for timing? Small deviations in distance are normal. I had GPSed on yesterday without moving (just installed it) and at a some moment it gave me a distance of over 300 meters. But after a while it corrected to a lower distance. When I paused it, it said 110 meters in 42 minutes.
Well, if the weather is nice, I will be going on a tour tomorrow, and test it some more on a real distance. If it's as acurate as tracker or better, it's fine with me. I'll keep you informed here.
(last reading(now) 54 meters in 10 minutes without moving)

I would have thought so as well.

As a test last night I recorded a journey using GPSed and BBtracker running together.

Both produced exactly the same route (well that was to be expected lol) but only BBtracker recorded the timings correctly

Back2Back Raw Data in XLS format

BBtracker GPX file

GPSed data file

This is a good site for generating reports from raw GPX files

Do you happen to know an easy way to import these gpx files in Google-Earth? I tried to do this; http://www.tech-recipes.com/r[....]x_track_path_google_earth_gps/ , but it just doesn't work. Don't know how to get to the settings under 'temporary places >gps device' I only get 'tempory places' and when I try to drag a gpx it opens in my browser as a file!
I really dislike using converters if not really necessary.

Easiest way I've found of opening GPX files on the PC is to open in Excel.

As for opening In Gogle Earth you will need some form of convertor.

BBtracker can produce KML files natively it's just I didn't choose that option. GPSED allows you to export uploaded tracks as GPX or KML format

EDIT:

Just tried the link you gave and wored perfectly in Google Earth with the GPX file l linked to earlier.

GPSED files are a unique format and wont transfer directly

Thanks, the easiest would be exporting in kml then. Yeah gpx is just xml, I use Kate to edit those so I could even manually (re)write my own routes. So I guess I have to try this BBtracker too. And thanks again for the link to that report site, very nice.
edit: OK so I have to figure out my Google-Earth settings first

Hey panman, check this report I got from the utrack site; http://www.4shared.com/file/78246013/75e1fde7/Exp_report.html .
It's just .... unreal! Even with a supersportscar I wouldn't be able to do this. Route seems accurate though. Gonna check some tracker routes for comparing.

Hmm and there was me thinking that apart from the 158mph peak (257kmh) it didn't look too unreasonable

This is my typical run to work
