I was using the camera on my phone the other day, and noticed the last button on the top row (if the camera button is on the top of the phone) of the touch sensitive buttons wasn't lit up, and couldn't be pressed. I took it to an O2 shop, and they said to send it back to the store I bought it from, since it's still within the 28 days warranty, and get a replacement. I brought it home and had a fiddle with it, and realised it was on the video recording mode. When I switched back to the camera mode, the touch button was back on. I'm wondering if this function is 'camera-only' or whether there IS a fault with the phone.

Help would be appreciated, thanks.

If you look at what that touch sensitive button does in camera mode - it cycles through various focusing options - you'll notice that none of those options is useful in video mode (you can't use auto focus or macro while recording videos).

It is not a fault, it is simply your phone telling you that the option is unavailable.

yes.

and to add more to that..,
it will be unavailable if you are using the portrait(fixed on face detection) or landscape or night....

it's a feature... not a flaw..

but i would love to have a night mode with AF (i now use modified sports mode for the night portrait)
