Bought a Samsung G600 on O2 recently for one of my daughters to replace her aging SE W810, anyhow I opened the box up just to check all was ok, never used a slider before and was slightly concerned at the amount of play between the two halves when it was slid open. It was so bad that you could feel the top half moving about when holding the keypad. Took it back for a refund (Tesco) with no problems.
I was always led to believe Samsungs had pretty good build quality, or did I just get a "bad 'un".

Actually that phone has a very solid slide on it so its obviously a faulty one.

I agree with you. I have got a G600-O2 and a U600-CPW for my younger sisters and I can tell you U600 has got much better build quality than G600, even though the later is on a bulky side.
