P800 Communicam photos vs. viewfinder... |

The photos I take with the P800 are a lot darker than they look on the viewfinder... Clarity is not a problem... but I found that even on the brightest setting, the viewfinder shows photos a lot brighter than they come out.
Here's the setting I use for low light conditions that seems to give the CLOSEST photos to what you see on the viewfinder:
Brightness: Max
Contrast: Min
The photos of the MCA-20 are generally clearer out of the box... but if you try to do anything with them in Photoshop, the compression blocks start to show...specially if you try to adjust brightness or color saturation...same goes for 7650 photos.
The P800 photos are good in bright light conditions... but the phone has a tendency to over saturate colors, specially in low light conditions. Too bad cuz the photos look good on the phone, just not on the PC... I have to tweak the brightness to about +20 or so (depending on how dark it was) to get the same look as I do when viewing the same photo on the phone.
SE included very nice controls for the Communicam (although they should add a gain/shutter control for night shots, instead of the brightness control) And I have no real complaints so far... I'll wait and see for the upcoming SW upgrade. |
