i heard a lot of people complaining about their w910...it shuts down randomly and mp4 video is out of sync (from what i noticed so far at mine - 3 days since i bought it)...installing the latest software doesn't help (it said it was installed - so i reinstalled it - that didn't help either)
my question is: will installing other phone's firmware help? if yes which one? |

Hmm well i have two friends with w910's, latest firmware and they have the occasional restarts( not shutdowns)... and the video is occasionally out of sync, so i think it's normal
Well you said you already had the latest firmware, so could you explain "will installing other phone's firmware help?" do you mean installing older firmware? |

actually at me they are more like blackouts - screen just turns black (as if i am not using the phone) and it also restarts sometimes
i "fixed" the mp4 problem by converting them into 3gp
and by installing other phone's firmware i meant installing the firmware for other sony ericsson model, other than w910\\w910i... would that work if the phones are very similar? |

some models you can use "alternate" firmwares (k800 <-> k810). Not
sure with the w910 though ....

videos aren't out of synchronization on W910 in the mp4 format. All u need is to use the correct settings for mp4-encoding and a good software.
I use AnyDVD Converter Professional and my videos are 100% synchorinzed.

As glorfingal said phones like k800 and k810 can "share" firmware but that's because they're almost the same phone. I don't think the w910 has a sister phone, unless somebody could correct me |
