How to get access to the SE k800 filesystem |

Hello everybody,
I've got some questions about my phone (which is the SE k800). I read some topics about how to get acces to the SE k800 file system, but they where pretty old and I though maybe there are better ways to do it. I'm really into the iPhone jailbreaking/modding/unlocking, but acctually I dont know anything how all this go on a SE phone. So my questions:
- How can I get access to my file system for some modding (without flashing my firmware).
- I read about a program XS++, is it still using a bruteforce to get into the filesystem? Is there a better program now?
- Flashing your firmware, are there risks? I dont know if anybody is also very familar with the iPhone firmware etc, in comparence, is it as safe as "flashing" the iPhone firmware?
- What are the advantages of flashing your firmware?
Thank you very much in advance!

XS is ok 4 flashing and uploading files to FS for CID52 and lower. FAR and JDflasher is the best for flashing/patching/uploading and copying files for all CIDs. The risks are pretty small but problems do happen and more often than not can be fixed. |

Thank you! So, the best is to use FAR with the JBflasher plug-in? But can I acces my FS without flashing whole new firmware? In other words, I've now the "standard-factory-firmware", can I now acces my FS?
I read some guides about JBFlasher, and with "flashing a patch", they mean just copy the patch to your file system? Is there something like a Wiki about this where i can read about all this?
Thank you! |

If what you want to do with the FS is just for simple modding like changing the standard drivers, customizing the menu icons or changing fonts, then the A2 Uploader works great. And it doesn't touch your firmware.

The far manager + jdflaser method is used specially when the phone is a db2020 cid53. Now, if the phone has a lower cid(36/49/51/52) you can use xs++ 3.1
You can also use setool 2 lite to upload and patch your phone if the cid is 52 or lower.
There are some tutorials here for xs++.

OK, so do you have any guide where I can see what kind of phone i have? Yes I'd like to do some simple modding (to begin). Can you tell me, what are the advantages of reflashing your whole firmware?
Thanks |

@Boysie99: How do you use FAR and JDFlasher? I only know how to use XS++ v3.1. I haven't tried any other SE Tools.

It's easy download FAR + JD Flasher. Copy DJ Flasher into FAR's plugin directory. `Hold alt and press F1, select JD Flasher and follow it's instructions, wil write a full tut though |

Help guys!
I did something very stupid. I aborted FAR Manager while it was doing the db2020 bypass procedure (http://www.akshayy.com/sonyericsson/tutorials/applying-patches-using-jdflasher-on-db2020-phones/). Because I saw that my firmware was needed and I did not have it. Now my phone doesn't startup anymore . I tried to repair the phone using SEtoollite, but is says:
ChipID:9900,EMP protocol:0301
PHONE IS RED RETAIL PRODUCT
FLASH CID detected:52
Speed:921600
Flash ID check:897E
Flash props sent ok
OTP LOCKED:1 CID:51 PAF:1 IMEI:35908701788836 CERT:RED
FLASH CID:52 COLOR:RED
set_gdfs_props failed, exiting
Elapsed:5 secs.
Elapsed:5 secs.
It seems that my GDFS is broken? I dont have that backed up...
What can I do to make my SE work again? Please help me, someone PLEASE!

You are the second person today who has messed around with their cell without BACKING UP GDFS!
Have u tried a full reflash again? If that doesn't work then u might have killed ur phone. |

How can I reflash my phone? I don't have any firmware and I don't know where to get it from. With what program should I do the reflash (SE2Tools, XS++ of JBFlasher with FAR)? Can you give me a link to that tread?
Thank you |

'Orange' means that firmware is branded to Orange! (The operator)
Look for K800_R8BF003_ RED52 firmware.
