G900.Worst phone I ever owned |

It was going to be my dream phone. I always wanted a Symbian phone. It cant even display graphics that the cheapest Sony Ericsson phone can display.Texting is a nightmare. Such a long procedure just to insert a question mark. Some windows can take up to 35 seconds to open. Now every time I add a new word to the dictionary, it crashes. I get a messsage "DUMP FILE CREATED". Then it says, Reason code KERN-EXEC
Reason number 3

I'm guessing you have an early firmware version installed? Have you tried updating the firmware yet?
If you really wanted to experience messaging on an UIQ phone, you should've gotten a P1i.

In uiq, it takes time to open things, but once its onto ram, it shouldnt take much time, and g900i wasnt that slow, but yeah, the messaging is different from the normal se phones, you will get used to it, its a change.

I would say your phone is definitely not well . My P990 with half the RAM doesn't take that long to open anything. Update + Master reset should fix that luckily... |

Java apps (touchscreen J2ME games, for example) sometimes take over 10-15 seconds to open while the default Messaging app is a bit on the slower side but 30 seconds sounds a bit too much.

After updating the FW to it's latest version, it works pretty fast even on messaging. The on-screen keyboard helps a lot in messaging too. |

against P1, G900 is slower in some way which`s quite odd, it should nearly be faster. software related ?

When I had my P1, I could say that it has pretty much the same speed as with my G900 now, and with the latest update it's a little bit faster. It's obvious to me especially when I use the handwriting recognition, before the delay was that you can finish jotting down the letter T but soon after the update it was if a second faster in writing it. |

The "Dump file created" message is characteristic to prototype phones. Check the IMEI number: if it starts with 00 then its a proto. Such phone may have early hardware problems. In that case your only good option could be to sell it to some other unlucky guy and buy a commercial unit.
