Hi,

I have had my K850i for about 14 months now and all of a sudden the "back" touch button has stopped working. I have the press the button quite hard on the sensor to make it work and even then it only work sometimes. This was very annoying but tried to keep using it because I was out all day. I also noticed though that when I tried to do something else like go through my contacts or write a message the back button seems to press itself! It was also annoying because I was on a call and that button happens to be the end call button so it just hung up when I was on a call. I am assuming this would be a touch pad issue but can anyone confirm this??

Also, is this phone still covered under warranty? Its under contract with Orange and I'm hoping that they or Sony cover the hardware for the length of the contact but that may be wishful thinking. I have a receipt for the date of purchase etc.

Any help is much appreciated!

if the phone doesnt show any sign of damage you could take it to repair for free. i say this because they could say that if the phone has some signs of damage it wouldnt be possible to repair it for free.

i think that the warranty is for 2 years. so give'em a call

Cool. I'll have to wait till tomorrow to give them a call!

Its only got the usual wear and tear but no visible damage so I'm sure it will be ok!

Thanks!

Many have faced this issue, its a h/w issue.
Best option is to ask SE to fix it.
