Hi all,

After struggling with the CK3000 to find out it doesn't work with my new P800, i'm now thinking of getting the HCB-30.

A few questions for you all out there.

1) Has anyone tried the P800 with the HCB-30? Any problems?
2) Does the HCB-30 announce the caller name on an incoming call?
3) What is your overall opinion on the HCB-30.

If you've had/used a CK3000 i'd like to hear a comparisson between the 2.

Thanks!

the hbh-30 is worth it, in my opinion. i use it with a t68i, but i haven't managed to make it announce the incoming caller. so i always answer with a "uh, hullo?"

but a.f.a.i.k. this is a feature you need to enable on your phone, since the headset does not store voice commands.

hey, i give you my headset, and you give me your p800, ok ?

He was talking about HCB-30, not HBH!!

I just got my HCB-30 today, but will have to wait with installation until I get the HCE-16 (to link the set to the car-stereo).

I'll keep you informed, if you want.

Should work with P800.... I hope so at least.

Xbone,

keep me posted on your progress. I ended up ordering and should get it early next week. I AMM is on back order so I plan on installing hcb-30 first to see how it works.

BTW...
Has anybody installed that set him/herself?
I have also wired everything in relation to the car-stereo, so I believe I should be able to do that bit of wiring, too, but you never can tell with , can you?

Xbone,

Do you have any details on the HCE-16? Can't seem to find out anything about it.

Any documentation I can find on the Advanced Music Mute doesn't talk about transferring the voice to your car stereo, only talks about muting it for an incoming call. Do I need to use the speaker with the HCB-30, or can I discard it and use the car stereo if I have the HCE-16?

Thanks.

That's what the purpose of Advanced Music Mute is. It will raise voltage on your car stereo's Telemute pin, so that the stereo will mute itself. At the same time, Advanced Music Mute use the car's speakers for your conversation. When you install it, it will be tapped into your car's speaker harness, just like your car stereo presently is (it's a essentially just a Y-cable adapter, of sorts).

It's worth checking that your car stereo has an ISO connector as this is what the music mute kit connects to in-betwean stereo and Car wiring harness!

Check out this google cache page for a picture of one (be patient it takes ages to load)

http://216.239.39.100/search?q=cache:pZyOfcK1B9wC:www.clarionworld.co.uk/stock/iso.asp+car+audio+iso+connector&hl=en&ie=UTF-8

If you don't have one then you will have to do some cutting and spliceing of the wires!

PS i had a seperate speaker previously with another car kit but this is twice as good with regards to voice clarity and also a lot tidier!

Highly recommend it if you are going to buy the kit!

OK, I did it, I got my HCE-16 today and installed it together with my HCB-30. Took my about two hours, but now everything is perfectly fitted into my '94 Honda Accord 2.3iSR and Alpine Car Stereo (RB7678).
I've paired it with my P800, works like a charm, and I've also paired it with my fathers R520, also rocks. I just couldn't get voice-dialling to work with my P800 after the pairing with the 520 (it worked on the mobile, but not via the HBC-30). The remote of the HCB-30 is absolutely gorgeous! Looks very stylish.
Installation is quite simple, except for hiding the cables (that depends on the car, probably).
Only problem so far seems the mic... People say they hear my like I'm very far away; they still do understand me quite well, but far away...
Does anyone know how to resolve that problem? And no, I wont buy the special mic
Any questions?
