After seeing my T68i my friend couldn't live with his 6510. So he went and traded it in, and paid almost as much on top, and got a 7210.

After using the 7210 for exactly 5 minutes, this is what I can list:

What the T68i has that the 7210 doesnt:
- animated GIF support
- screensavers
- Bluetooth
- EMS

What the 7210 has that the T68i doesnt:
- better looking higher resolution color display
- polyphonic ringtones
- Nokiaiteism
- FM Radio
- ability to create folders to store pictures in
- 2MB as opposed to 1mb of the T68i
- changeable face plates

This clearly weighs the 7210 higher...

But no animated screensavers! I just adore how easy it is to make screensavers for my phone myself and zap them quickly!

I'm happy with my T68i. The only upgrade to this model I wish: at least 4096 colors!

The 7210 have only 725Kb, not 2Mb.

The only thing that is better on the Nokia the screen.

that link rocks .. i really must confess not having explored esato at all

i dont need a radio .. FM channels here are shit so I don't care. I just made a small list of things that I found different in the two - not that they matter to me!

has anyone tried putting animated gifs on the 7210? lemme know..

i have a softspot for indian stuff - mainly cuisine murgh jalfrezzi freak, really

for me is a major item! radio can be bought as an extra, like it is said in the above post! poliphonics - gimme a break, man! don't think that's soooooo important, do u
a phone is supposed to RING - that's all, poliphonics don't do it for me as a comparison point...

Hi there! I tested 7210 for 5days-and I would never exchange my t68i with 7210. I got brand new 7210 from nokia and the handsfree stereo set was not working! The second thing is very small memory. Only advantage of 7210 was 4096 color screen. 7210 is a toy! It doesn't have even Voice Dialing and Bluetooth! How could it be? I told a friend of mine that it is a phone just for show off- and as I said we went to the disco-I showed 72 to a girl and she was fascinated;-) Best Regards! Peter

well t68i is ahead of 7210 or 6610. my sister bought a 6610 with camera and the picture is very disappointing...i mean wow its 4096 colors but looks like 256 with fine edges. color is very poor. even if you take a picture from 7650 then transfer it to 6610 or 7210...still, its ugly.

One thing that all Nokiaphones still are missing is the MMS page feature.
As I send lots and lots of MMS to my Ericsson carrying friends this is a feature that I really miss on the N phone.
Say that I've spent an hour or so in the MMS creator (for PC) and then I send it to all my friends in my "MMS-enable" contactlist.
Then only half of them get to see the MMS as it was created.

So there you have it MMS users. T68i vs 7210, 1-0

I believe that the T68i is a "good" phone, with quite limited technical capabilities. Its way past its prime and it should be left alone to die in peace. The onlyu really good thing i like about the T68i is the bluetooth capability... I had the T68 and T68i.
It was fun 1 year ago, but not know..

Ringtones don't get it up for me - I have my phone on silent all the time anyway. I hate ringtones. And Bluetooth? Seriously, I'd prefer a $10 data cable to a $50 BT adapter. That's what I did with my T68i, and then realised BT is not so much of use to me.

But the main reason why I'm bringing up this issue is that being a developer, im very much intrigued by the possibility of being able to develop my own custom applications for my phone using J2ME - something I seriously miss in my T68i.

Take for example the default stand-by clock displays the time in big fat letters. I'd like to see the date as well, something that's as imoprtant to me as the time. In the T68i, I have no choice. In the 7210, I can get a java midlet that does it for me. If I can't find something I want, I can make it.

I don't know Java yet, but I know lots of people who do, who can make it for me for free And what better opportunity can I find to learn a technology that simply refuses to go away from my life. Right. I hate java, JSP and all that. I prefer competing rival technologies like PHP and ASP etc. But Java will always be there. Its the bitter truth.

Another bitter truth - Nokiaiteism. Like I said, 90% of India uses the Nokia 3310. 90% of the messages I get are Nokia specific - picture messages, ringtones, whatever. I'm not saying Nokia is the best platform, but its going to be around whether you like it or not, and I'd rather be compatible, than technically advanced but incompatible.

Besides, all chicks I know dig Nokias. Whatever gets them warm
