Two weeks with no C905 what next? |

I sent my C905 for repair two weeks ago due to a faulty earpiece. They took the handset and I phoned a few days later and was told it was being dealt with and would be ready by the end of the week. I phoned at the end of that week and was told they were emailing SE for parts. I phoned early this week and they claimed the parts where here and I would have it by today.
I am going to phone them again tomorrow as they seem to be making excuses. It's been almost two weeks and I keep getting told it's being repaired so if tomorrow comes and they still make excuses where do I go from here?
I am going to phone SE see what they say but I am fully expecting them to do nothing. If they can't get parts they should need to replace it. The handset is faulty due to a manufacturing defect which seems to be in a "batch" of handsets on the market. Therefore it would be repaired or replaced.
I paid over £400 to get this phone as it was announced in July. It was delayed and I expected them to get it right. So if SE do nothing where can I go and complain about this Limited Warranty? It's not right a phone under 30 days goes bust and they are in no hurry to repair it.
So where do I go if they fob me off again? Watchdog? Trading Standards? I would just like a working Sony Ericsson C905. My K850i packed in after 6 months it's not on they charge high end prices for flagship phones you expect a quality finished handset.

I share your frustration regarding a handset costing some 500 euros and still not living up to expecting standard. Seriously that is quite some money to spend and still it seems the manufacturers prefer to view cell their cell phones as trashy use-and-throw-away-products. Unbelievable really.
i must say though, based on my experience, two weeks is quite a normal time for repair.

Hah, the C905 is not that reliable... The phone is expensive but many users are complaining about it's build quality... I have heard a lot of people having problems like:
- Up and Down keys on the d-pad not working;
- Earphone not working
and etc...
Some of the problems are solvable by flashing the phone (the software related ones), but most of them are only solvable by getting your phone to service... I was about to go for the C905 soon, but I think I should think twive before buying it because of the bad common bugs that affect the phone's normal usage...
I think that if you have some more money to spend on a phone, you should go for the X1, the older but still good G900 or wait for a new and better models.

If it breaks down within 30 days, I would have taken it back to the store and asked for a replacement. However now that you've sent it, I would try getting to talk to the manager at the repair centre and see what he says. That works best, happened with my and my laptop which also turned out to be a lemon.
