Apple are certainly ones for carving a path into the future, however, I see more and more mobiles today requiring data for features that are there when you start the phone up. My C905 isn't quite there, it only really needs that data package for the aGPS and the live RSS feeds on the homescreen (those are the features that eat your money quietly). Apple have used a lot the potensial of unlimited data to the full with the iphone 3G, and look how much it is paying off for them.
Having just seen the Nokia N97, there is no doubt for me, this is where we'll end up, have you seen that things home screen! Live RSS feeds, facebook updates, myspace, email, comments, and social location services all packed onto a single screen! Also looking at the video, Nokia are obviously gearing the phone to a social audience as you have seamless integration on the phone's applications into social networking (post comments by sliding the keyboard out)
Its an interesting thought, but do you think its the furure?

The answer from me for that is no. Everyone is different. I use the net alot though my brothers and friends dont. Some text alot some call alot some dont. There are plenty of light low users still out there. Also if everyone had unlimited plans there would be no room on the networks more than likely. I dont know i might be wrong.

I still think WebnWalk is the best all you can eat data package as it has the faster networks and the most comprehensive tariffs.

Of course, recently we have seen mobile operators offering accessories like free Netbooks and peddling all you can eat music downloads plus with laptops getting smaller and smartphones embracing social networking applications it will have to come eventually.

Now we have phones with youtube uploading and downloading and what use are these if you have to pay by the MB?
