The X1 came, and it went, and no one even noticed, no one even cared. Stop comparing N97 to it.

Been watching a couple of new videos of the N97 from CTIA & i'm really starting to get the bug for this now.
The interface seems smooth & the transitions quick. Browser looks very good, responsive screen + kinitec scrolling looks like it will make for a great experience.
So far this is ticking all my boxes, large onboard memory (+ expandable), large screen etc etc. I'm even liking the idea of the physical qwerty more & more.
I know technically the Omnia HD is probably more gifted (larger capacitive OLED screen, HD recording & playback, 8mpx camera, more video codecs supported etc) but I think the support offered by nokia & the ease of sync with my MAC has more or less won me over. |

That's pretty much exactly why I think I'm going to get one when it finally drops too! That is, unless Apple announces something really cool this June, and finally manages to include everything I've been wanting hardware wise with the this hardware refresh of the iPhone. As well as including all of the stuff I feel the phone's been missing since it's introduction with the release of 3.0, I might finally be moved to get a iPhone...

lol, yeah... right... no one noticed?
anyway, having spent a couple of months or so with X1... the main reason I dumped it was because, after the iphone, I realised I don't need a physical keyboard anymore
I should perhaps have learned that from having had the HTC diamond before but it took the X1 to make me truly realise
now, having had the Nokia 5800, I am sure I don't want the N97 as I feel it won't give me enough reason to have the keyboard and hence the extra bulk... I shall wait for Nokia's 5800 non physical keyboard follow up...

Aren't you tempted by the Sammy? Looking at just hardware I think it will take Nokia a while to produce something this powerfull. Or even the leaked s8000. |

Yeah I am tempted by the HD (you'd be stooopid not to!) but whenever I read/see pictures/video etc of the sammy HD I always keep coming back to lust for the N97 (don't know why, just guess at the moment the N97 has that elusive 'x factor' for me). Very eager to see & feel both these products in real life though and find out how they perform. Also depends what networks they both appear on when released. If Orange get the HD & not the N97 then i'll quite happliy take that but given the choice as i've mentioned previously i'd much prefer the N97. |

I may well land up with the N97 as well but it will be the software that would persuade me. And the hacking issue. Trouble is the omnia will be out a month earlier bar any surprises. |

I love S60. I am happy to see, 2 'horses' fighting each other for the 'top spot'. May the best win Samsung's camera seems to be better. Nokia's support is definitely better. Can't wait to 'test drive' both devices. In 2 or so months I will let you know which one I prefer

Quick question - can you load films onto the N97 from the computer then watch them on any tv via the tv-out? Or is it limited to films recorded via the camera or just pics, like some other phones? |

You can watch any film via TV-Out with the Nokia phones that have TV-Out support.
