Does anyone have the Parrot CK300 update cable? If so, can you post photos of it? I am having a lot of trouble getting one from Parrot... so I'll just make it.

Did you ever get anywhere with this?

56 euro's seems a bit steep for what must be a serial lead, perhaps with a few components in to bring the line level up to 5v for serial.

I have looked into this without luck, although www.mobiland.co.uk did say they were in negotiations with Parrot to just stock the cables for people wanting DIY upgrades.

I would like to bring this topic up again. So, has anyone gotten hold of the cable or schematics?

Also, it seems that CK3000 could be updated via bluetooth also. Does anyone have any more info on this besides the one that is available from http://www.say-parrot.com/parrot/uk/index_eng.htm or the "Parrot Flash Update Utility" readme -file?

Edit: corrected link

CK3000 can be updated via Bluetooth only using another CK3000 which has the desired version of software. You can't upgrade CK3000 using a virtual Bluetooth COM port on a PC.

You can buy the cable from the nice people at www.mobiland.co.uk for about £10.

It works well and can't be made yourself because it has components built into the RS232 port.

God bless you! Just ordered myself one from Mobiland. That's 3 times cheaper than Parrot's price!

You are very welcome, whats more is that I was bowled over by the service at mobiland!!!

The guy who runs it (Ken Taylor), didn't rest until he got mine working (I had teething problems). He kept emailing me suggestions after contacting Parrot on my behalf.

I have succesfully flashed mine, if you need any help, feel free to email me on g3312@cayman.co.uk

Thanks for the kind offer of help!!

I bit the bullet and went ahead with the install of my CK3000 as it is, figuring I'll pluck it out and upgrade when the cable arrives.

Turned out, CK3000 was already sporting version 2.41, which is the latest (per Expansys US, where I bought it). Well, at least with the cable, my CK is as future proof as it can be.

Not that this version of firmware is problem-free, though. Don't know whether I should blame my AT&T's R3C version of T68i, but Wordspotting option doesn't appear in the Voice Reco menu, and, accordingly, doesn't work (saying "Phone" and "Hang up" has no effect). The handsfree volume is extremely loud when I turn on the ignion -- it turns on at 5/7, and forgets any changes I make (lowering it to 2/7 or 1/7) after I turn off the ignition. I'll need to re-check the wiring but I am pretty sure everything is OK... Maybe the fuse is blown though, I don't know... All recorder voice tags are preserved after ignition is switched off, however.
