Decrease the level of brightness, don't surf the web on your phone all day & turn off BT & IR if you don't need them.

Old battery or maybe bluetooth, display brightness and infra red can decrase standby time... You can also get the latest firmware for your phone by updating it with SEUS or flashing it with XS++ with firmware files from www.4shared.com... Anyway, if your battery is old and used for long time, you can replace it with brand new one.
