Currently, I need a new phone. My W910 is really starting to annoy me big time.

As I've said in the title, I don't really like what SE are offering. The W595 has a bad camera and is made from rather cheap plastic. I quite like the W902, but it's rather expensive and I'm a bit bored of SE tbh.

I really like the Samsung Soul. It fits the bill for me. It's slim, nice looking, slider, good camera with af and flash, made out of decent materials totaling more than 1p etc etc

Anybody else share my feelings? Or are Sony Ericsson just not appealing to 16 yr olds that want a decent phone?

Oh and anyone know where I can get a soul cheap??

Yeahh but it's rather thick, and a bit expensive for me, but the slider mechanism seems very nice.

But yeahh a bit thick for me tbh.

The g600 is rather thick...much more than the soul, and certainly not in pink lol

@mr miyagi-"nothing slim about it"-12.9mm isn't slim? the motorola v3 was 13.7mm. albeit the rest of the u900 is quite "chunky"

wel i used to have a soul( i mean the phone , still have my soul ) and to be honest i didn't get the "wow" factor from it. I don't know samsung's UI just isn't my thing mayb. The design to me seemed.....classy, sensible, well made(very) but just a bit too understated i felt. and the touchpad worked really well but usage wise doesn't really add anything imho.
And since you mentioned the camera....it's great outdoors. But indoors it's really underpar. The camera's refresh rate/shutter speed is slow as well, when you activate the flash the shutter speed gets seriously slow( i think like 1 second apparently, don't quote me on that though) and i always ended up with blurred images, mind you my hands aren't the most stable(but hey it's all relative since i own a n82 nw wif xenon)

But yea if the camera isn't a priority and the design appeals to you, then i would still recommend it, just that it happened to bore me very quickly
Or hw about the c902...the build quality at least seems good...

My dads mat has a C902 and it turns itself off during calls. I feel SE are still not capable of producing reliable firmware.

I have a separate camera, and tbh anything is better than whats on my W910.

Style is pretty important, but I'm not compromising usability/features for it. The soul seems to tick that box.

Playing with one today at 3 gave me the wow factor from my old W900 which I cannot find with any other SE phone.

Tbh now all I really use a phone for it to call and text. Take a few pics and rarely listen to music on the loudspeaker.

If you can wait about 3-4 months get a w705. Really i know its a bit to hyped up but i believe that one will make a change. It certainly looks it. Otherwise get a w760. A bit glitchy but if you travel a lot it takes international sims.

The W705 does look stunning, however, if you have forfilled the music/camera position with another device, why not get:
1. G900, the SE symbian interface is a dream to use, and makes a great change the trad SE software, a bit pricey at £200 sim free of ebay new
2. K660i, the most beautiful SE phone ever with 3G internet on ebay new for £100

I do like the W705, but the camera, it has no af, so thus it's not that great. Wifi is a great bonus though and makes it worth considering. How much do you guys think it'll be when it comes out. And will SE sort out their firmware and build quality issues with it??

The G900 looks rather complicated to use and tbh I don't think I need all the features it's offering. And the K660, well the screens a bit small and it lacks the all important wow factor in my opinion.

I just need a good looking reliable phone thats a pleasure to use. Mainly for calls and texts. Photos when I don't have my camera on me and music playback through the loudspeaker in a situation when I want to play music outloud, so thus a decent speaker is needed. And I don't think SE are offering what I want. Walkmans without decent cameras, is that what people want?

I appreciate you guys coming up with the suggestions though, you may be able to find me the perfect phone:)

The Soul is a decent device, but IMO it doesn't have any wow factor. I have the K660i for a week now (though I don't use it atm). It is really gorgeous and that's it's wow factor IMO. The features aren't that great, but it's just a decent phone for a small price. Perfect for a 16 y/o boy, IMO, though it's not that different form W910i.

Some K660i pics, to show it's beautifull design:

W705 seems like a great choise, too. It will be around €300 at it's release. Another phone that managed to impress me (I'm 15) is Nokia 5220. It has a gorgeous design and the music lights are nice. It's quite basic, though.
