Can someone confirm if it is possible with the K770i taking a photo with the native camera application in the same time as a Java application is running.
Thx a lot

No, it's not possible. There's a patch that makes this possible. I have it for my w810, but i dont know if there's any for yours.

Have you tested it?
W810i is from a lower platform version than K770i.
Theoretically speaking the specification of the JP7 platform says that K770 should be able to make photos while java is running.
I don't know what it is in practice - That's why I need an answer from a K770i user to be 100% sure. Thanks though.

I take it u dont have a k770 otherwise u would have tried it. If u did u would get the message: 'Another application is running...blah, blah' . Its definately not possible without a patch. Its all a question of heap (RAM) available. Trying to run both camera and java application may result in the phone crashing due to lack of memory.

This is strange...
Just now 2 people on another forum wrote it was possible on their K770i opening the camera application while java ran. And they did not use any patches.

I can do it on my k610, in fact I have done it with 5 java apps open at once! Really, there is no reason why it shouldn't work on a k770 but you never know

It works atleast on K810. IMO, K770 has newer java plateform than of K810.
So i can't understand why this can't be possible on K770?? |

The only possibility I see is that the guys who answered in the beginning haven't actually tested it on their phones...
Any other K770i who can report on taking a photo while java runs? |

It may be dependent on the firmware version too. My K800@K810 R8 can do it too, so I don't see no reason why K770, or other DB2020 phones, can't

Just found out if i use the original cam driver it works! Weird!
Must be to do with the cam driver version and not the java version.
