I'm assuming you own a W950? If so, the version of Opera Mobile (8.65) that's bundled with the phone does not support Flash.

I have a gprs connection but video streaming sucks .
Problems
1. The bufferin takes place for 3-5 sec of visble video even when the custom setting is done for buffering for 15 sec.
2. even when it buffer for a substantial time it speeds up the video asif being watched at fastforward speed

Yeah the same thing is with the P1 I am using... It supports youtube, even with the built in web browser, but the problem in most cases is the internet connection... It only let me stream videos via GPRS which makes them crap and unusable for me... It doesn't let to stream youtube videos with wifi or bluetooth pan connection.

Huh? I thought the default browser Opera 8.65 did not support flash?

AFAIK, that mod allows locally stored files to be played and not flash files over the internet.

Guys,
the app CorePlayer supports full YouTube support.
The flash which was enabled by SwMail also allows to play flash from the internet but not all (no YouTube).
It currently works on Opera Mobile 8.65, but not 9.5 yet.
My P1 shows many flash animations from the internet..

Youtube uses a newer version of Adobe Flash for its player interface. Most Flash images and banners on the web would probably run on Macromedia's original Flash player too.
Besides, Coreplayer has removed support for YT videos in the latest version (1.2.5) IIRC.

There is a new version of flash being ported to uiq3 that will support youtube on the browser
Core Player 1.25 introduced youtube playing, not the opposite. However, it stop working in the last weeks, something that will be fixed on the upcoming 1.3
And to get thins straight, opera 8.65 always supported flash, however only recently the necessary pluggin appeared
Opera 9.5 only plays flash localy, this will be fixed on next version

The default browser in just about ALL colour screen SonyEricsson phones from K750/W800 onward is NOT the Opera. Its the NetFront browser. Only the UIQ phones, or the new Xperia line don't use the NetFront browser.
* However; if you look for the specs of NetFront "platform" browser for feature phones natively it does support Flash Lite. For some reason unknown SE took out that support.
* also note that there is a NetFront browser for Windows Mobile smartphones/Professional models.
What are you talking about dude? You need a refresher course in UIQ 101. Let's talk after that. |
